So I started reading volume 1 of この素晴らしい世界に祝福を! (in Japanese, just clarifying for posterity) and it's pretty okay I guess. Does it go anywhere or is it always just jokes?
Also Aqua a qt. Is she popular among Western reader friends?

This is bait.

It's not.
Am I supposed to understand it as "No, she's not."?

Aqua a retard
I haven't read it but the synopsis is stupid and the anime looks like garbage, so take that as you will.
Also just from watching the anime trailers, I'd say that wizard girl is best.

It goes somewhere. It's mostly jokes, but the characters do grow and are actually rather well characterized, and the world building isn't expansive, but the world of Gifting is rather grim all things considered. Romantic progress is slow if that's what you're going into it for.

Hmm, then I guess I might check out volume 2 after I finish 1.

Well if you find it funny then keep reading it. If you don't find it funny I suggest reading something else. It's more entertaining if you're reading it and have read other reincarnation stories I think.

I didn't, but the point is that it's parodying them? I can kind tell already.

Pretty much. It's a parody of your usual reincarnation story or taken to another world story. In a sense, a lot of what happens in Gifting is just absurd but at the same time, it's actually a lot more practical with how things work. Like armor or having no money.
Eris a best

This is an Axis thread, go away.
Will they get another party member?
