There was a very brief mention... "I won't need to do anything this time" after something had blown up during their training.
The biggest thing against the ring at this point though, is that there are only two episodes left for the Freeza battle.
One is called "At his limit, he sees victory! Goku's Counter Attack!" And the one afterwards is "The Decisive Kamehameha!". After that, it's already the Champa arc.
Last week's episode ended with Golden Freeza beating down SSB Goku to the point that Goku was tired, something that never happened in the movie. Next episode, considering the title, it seems to be about Freeza starting to tiring out and Goku turning the tables.
After that, it should be the ring blast, but, the episode titles seem to go against that.
