You need to know some stuff about mahjong to fully enjoy it.
But I heard some people without knowledge in mahjong enjoy this. They just really enjoyed how Akagi fucks everyone up.
It's still great anime.

Both Akagi and Wahizu are in the edge of death and they are literally on the last hand of the last round. FKMT may stretch it for a while, but there is an end in sight.
