We found out why the MC doesn't understand love.
(It's been years since I read the LN, so I may have mixed up on the order of events.)
The three girls came to realize their true feeling for MC and wanted to confess. At the same time, the MC's memories started to come back.
The Goddess of Love was a real sadistic bitch and liked to toyed around with mortals' love. One day, she met young MC, and plotted a series of events to make him fall in love with her. As the young MC confessed, the Goddess humiliated and made fun of him in front of everyone. This devastated the young MC and made him believe that no one would seriously fall in love with him.
The Goddess returns and forcefully made the MC memories came back. As she laughed and told the 3 girls what happened, the 3 girls protected him. This broke the MC's mental trauma and made him realize that all three girls are in love with him.
But he then realized that he already love someone-Chocolate. So he rejected each girls separately (and a nobody), then confessed to Chocolate. But Chocolate immediately falls into a coma.

Chocolate turns out to be an amalgram of hundreds of different personalities. Each personality is specially created for a certain scenario that requires heaven's interventions. But somehow when the sadistic personalty of Chocolate was sent down, a glitched happened and all the personalities got sent down together. This messes up Chocolate's mind and makes her seems so quirky.
This MC's confession has unwind the status quo and caused a collapse of Chocolate's mind. So each personality started to take over Chocolate for a few days at a time (genki, tsundere, kuudere, etc.) and eventually Chocolate would be gone forever.
The MC swore to save all of Chocolate's personalities (they are all part of her.) After some savior events, he did it and most of the personalities fell in love with him. The original Chocolate returns, but now she truly loves the MC.
But as they confess their love for each other, the Goddess returned. She wanted to cause maximum pain for the MC, so she declares that if the MC chooses Chocolate, she will erase Chocolate forever.
