There is some little hope as Ledo is now kind of archeologist and with his "future" knowledge deciphers "old" data.
At the same time continent nation also got similar data and "artifacts" from which they built very primitive Chamber-wannabe.
This gives us hope as they already have some kind of compatibility with Ledos pendrive and they are even capable of maintaining self-aware AI.
So dunno about the novels( I heard only that weak-heart bro has some romance with continent officer chick aka "not!FemLedo") but it would be possible in my opinion to recreate Chambers from pendrive.

It seemed like most anons liked the slice of life most and got upset when it started having lowercase plot at the end. The SF stuff is honestly fucking great and you're a bunch of mouth breathers. Urobuchi seems fascinated by transhumanism, or at least was between this, Psycho-Pass, and Expelled from Paradise. I wish he wrote more of the episodes and went into the debate and differing beliefs of the people who split between evolvers or techno-worshipers.

You got it backwards, the SOL antics were boring it was the SF aspects that made it interesting however they couldn't even pull that off right so the show really ended up being a sum of it's parts. The OVAs are even worse.

It's clearly a story Urobuchi abandoned then passed off to a studio to handle the rest, so it's not enough to redeem the show. Maybe he felt he was doing too much SF or it was taking too long. I imagine the anime writers looked at it realistically and thought, "OK, we're anime writers so we can go 2 directions with this: trainwreck or healing. Let's flip a coin." Then we got this Frankenstein script. The ideas themselves are interesting but the execution made them nearly irrelevant.
