Come on they weren't fighting, they show you how Azazel really kills people. It's all the catharsis. When they actually meet the guy is the best time to be over with it.
Interesting world, characters that behave accordingly given the world they live in (that means no shonen cliches), if there's some kind of special power or magic or whatever, make it interesting, no just "i can cast fireballs"
