They were the kinda of studio who takes any job they can get and don't really give a fuck if it's good or not or if they are following the source material. The terrorists and trains were a lot more important than the harem hijinks in the novels and the series was much more action based. For example, Aoi has a silver haired rival who fights like a ninja and throws scissors like their shurikens in the novels.
