New Kaiji chapter.
Kaiji just can't help himself but leap headfirst into a gamble he has a clear disadvantage in. I love it

KAIJI STOP
I just checked to see how many volumes Japan are up to. This game should last one more volume, right? The last three games have all been about 10 volumes.
>>134824562
*to be
>>134824599
He's a really interesting character. I was worried he'd be the same as his dad.
And yeah, thanks for dumping, OP!
>>134824625
He's a gambling addict. That's how it works. A big win is never enough, they rely on the thrill of winning more and risking it, They can't stop themselves. My mom's a gambling addict and while my family is in debt, if she wins at the casino, she'll stay there for sometimes twenty hours, playing slots until shes spent all she's won.
>>134824746
Literally no point except going broke.
In truth, Kaiji isn't wrong. If we assume he's going to accept the bet regardless (and we know he will) and both can't fold from the game until broke, having the minimum wage being something like 1 million would mean that on the long ran, as their fortunes oscillate, he'd need a huge sequence of wins to arrive at a point where he can actually make a dent, and the psychological pressure from betting more money when he can bet less can get taxing, while his opponent can always just play it safe and just wait for him to suicide. His current strategy may look like a lot of ifs, but the alternative is A LOT more ifs. If he could cut the losses, that's another matter, but if he could, would he be satisfied when winning, say, 100 or 200 millions? No. He'd push further. When that oscillation brings him down to 100 millions, would he fold? Maybe. It would mean, basically, that if he can fold, and he's betting small, he's basically just going there to lose.
It's a much better strategy to wage with huge bets, and risk your life into it. After all, to gamble means to die in the first place. Cornering himself means he can't back down, and if he could back down, he would only lose in the end. At least in this game, and playing like that he's actually able to "kill" Kazuya.
I don't even like gambling, but that's really the only way before him.
Japan really doesn't like this arc.
>>134825475
Shit taste. Kazuya is the best villain since Tonegawa and his gambles are actually original.
>>134825213
That's a good point.
Man, it's painful to see Kaiji digging himself into a hole like this. I love rooting for the underdog but he really brings all of this onto himself.
>>134825475
They are complaining about the pacing not the story.
>>134827172
>Complaining about the pacing in a FKMT manga
What the fuck Japan?
>>134827172
It can't have worse pacing than part 3.
>>134825620
This
>>134825620
End yourself.
Japan is the only one country allowed to decide what's shit or not,
It's time to accept the end of FKMT era.
>>134827172
is it Akagi tier?
>>134828458
worse
Kaiji is fetish-pandering moeshit.
>>134824789
There's a reason all those people wound up on the boat, or on the highrise, or in the Underground.
Some of them may have wound up there due to naivete like Kaiji (at first), maybe a few needed to borrow money for lifesaving operations or whatever, but most of them wound up there due to ruining themselves with gambling debts.
>>134822906
How is the manga coming along? I stopped keeping up after the fuckface decided to kill his friends. Never liked that about Kaiji, flip-flopped way too much on the whole idea of whether you can trust people or not.
>>134828485
Is the game, spanning a single night with 12 bet pieces going to last 30 years this time?
Why is Kaiji so much better than Akagi? Maybe it's because I'm not a mahjong fan, but even then I can never feel myself rooting for Akagi like I can Kaiji.
>>134828429
>im-fucking-plying Kaiji is the only successful FKMT work
>implying Kaiji will end soon
>>134833395
Because Akagi is hypercompetent at everything and you just know he is going to win.
>>134833061
Eventually the apex of FKMT will be a simple game of flip the coin lasting three decades and two authors, as FKMT will die before he finished writing the game.
God, if FKMT died before finishing Akagi, Ten, adn Rei it's going to be so bitter.
>>134834513
What about Zero?
>>134834513
Who cares about Akagi's ending? We already know he's going to win at the end.
I would bet all of /a/ in a heartbeat
>>134825213
Yeah, the law of averages dictates that Kazuya is much more likely to win with his huge bankroll, even with bets as high as 20 million. By cutting down the number of games, Kaiji has a better chance of winning, especially since One Poker is more dependent on luck than regular poker
>>134832751
It's not that FKMT flip-flopped, it's just that it depends on the individual. Finding someone you can trust takes luck, hence life is GAMBARU
>>134836512
Well it seems like every person who Kaiji put his trust into, betrayed him at one point or another, except for maybe the businessman he did the pachinko gambling with.
>>134836550
Also, Mario and Chang
>>134836550
I am heartbroken when those two from the mines end up betraying him.
>>134836550
>>134837750
Serves him right for being part of the 1%
>>134837618
Didn't that guy put his trust in Kaiji, rather than the other way around? And those two haven't had the chance to fall through on him yet.
