Honestly, that's always been the nature of Magi's story structure: a revolving door of MC's between Aladdin, Alibaba and most recently Hakuryuu, Sinbad too if you count no Bouken.
On paper Aladdin is the protagonist and Alibaba is the deutagonist, but Ohtaka mixes it up quite often.
