I think I've rewatched Welcome to the NHK ever winter since I first watched it. So good. I don't think any other romantic/drama anime comes close to being as compelling.

I wish I waited until the winter to rewatch it this year. I'm not a hiki at all, but the show is pretty much a mirror reflection of me as soon as I get home from work.
How does the LN end, anyway? The show ends with Satou pretty much in the same spot as he was in the beginning except now he has a dead end job. It's pretty hopeless in the end.
I also think Tatami Galaxy has a lot of similarities to NHK.

That's funny because I always considered the last episodes of Tatami to be the weakest of the entire show. Not bad episodes by any stretch mind you, but I didn't find it nearly as subtle or interesting as the other episodes, and felt that there was really no need for it to take two full episodes just to exposit all of the messages of the show.
Still a top tier show though.

I think both are actually about adult life and making your own poor decisions. In NHK our MC made a pretty poor decision by deciding to shut himself in, during what's considered by most a major influential period in life. In Tatami, the MC tries to make a different decision every episode, but it continuously goes in another direction he wasn't expecting.
