One of my least favourite tropes in Wan Piss is female characters getting lumbered with shitty cartoon abilities that just disable opponents in weird ways and don't have any actual power. Kalifa, Bonney, Tsuru and Jora are the worst offenders. Hancock's ability at least is described as powerful by others (although not againstasexualslike Luffy) and then you have a few like Sugar and Perona whose powers have other cool applications that are secondary to the main "touch or zap opponent to win" power.

It's really the fact that he was aware enough of as a child to recognize how badly his father fucked up. He had gotten a taste and been taught as a Celestial Dragon and was just expected to be normal after all that? Kids are especially impressionable and judging from when he is in the streets asking people why they aren't bowing before him, his dad didn't even explain the situation to him and left him to figure it out for himself. I really believe it's more Doffy was born with a really exceptional nature that would bring him success in life and the excessive trauma from a young age quickly derailed that into following a dark path.

Did you speedread the second part of my post? I didn't literally mean he was born out of his mom's womb like that. I meant as a kid he grew up in an environment that reinforced certain ideals. And because he was innately more social than Rosinante, he probably interacted with the CDs and his social environment more than his shy brother who probably just stuck around his pleb minded parents.
Shit only got worse after they went down to pleb world and Doffy found reasons to hate on them more, and met Trebol and co who treated him like a god and reinforced his ideals of superiority. Whether you think that's unfortunate for him or if you think he could've changed if he met Sengoku, instead of Trebol, at a young age is up to interpretation. I personally think his disposition was too strong and ingrained during his time in Mariejois which is why I consider his shitty and evilness to be a product of both nature and nurture.
Oda could've made it really obvious by making us feel bad for him in the end (e.g Trebol ultimate mastermind fanfic), and make it seem his shittiness was 100% nurture. The way he's written now makes it pretty ambiguous and open to whatever you think. In real life I'm more of a "nature > nurture makes you who you are" type of thinker which is why I think he would've stayed evil no matter what, but I'm sure there are people here that think Doffy would've turned out differently if Sengoku found and raised him and whatever. We'll never know.

Why are they so fucking concerned for him? People generally have a rule about not openly wishing death on somebody, but that doesn't mean that they're going to treat a dickwad of an old man like a king just because his days are numbered. They'd be like "He has three days left to live? Well, that sucks, here's a get well present... We'll just be over here in our ship." At very least, they'd tell him to shut the fuck up with his demanding attitude.
I normally wouldn't skip episodes, and I haven't minded the other filler, but this old man is really annoying, as is the way that the group is coddling him.

The only post Alabasta filler really worth it is Chopper's rumble ball one with Robin. A while later there is an arc called G-8 which is hands down the best filler arc.
