It was. The Seeker, aka that guy that used 3 copies of each Exodia piece, was actually using counterfeit cards, it's why the cards were transparent. The only reason Kaiba didn't cancel the duel was because he wanted Yugi to suffer throuh Exodia. It's why Yugi tore up the cards.
