It's funny playing the VN first with the PS3 patch and then watch Umineko. Because the voice directing is so fucking terrible in the anime, that I first thought some characters had completely different VAs.

Like, the way Rudolf took out Bel was really fucking skilled originally, in the anime, Bel looked like shit. And Kyrie had no impact with her speech of her insanity.

I only got into the series recently, and I totally agree. I can't think of a single fight scene that was more exciting in the anime than in the VNs.
It really says something about you when you can't animate a fight scene to be cooler than a fight scene conveyed by narration and stationary pictures.
