I've spent the last week somewhat organizing but largely deleting 150 gb of pics, 99% of them from my 6 years of visiting this board.
do you ever look at the giant mess of folders you've collected over the years while wasting your time here and think why? why did I bother to save this shit? or do you have everything nice and tidy?

I just stuff it all in my "4chan shit" folder
I've got over 800 GB of unsorted images and videos I've collected over the course of 5 years
whenever I bring myself to sort some of them, it's like taking a stroll down memory lane
The biggest problem is my download folder. Everything else is clean, except the random folder. I haven't organized and moved all images that I downloaded in months, so it's one huge fucked up folder and it'll take a day or so for me to get through.

Not at all. I have everything organized so I can go find what I want to look at when the urge takes me, and I also have it all just dumped randomly in a folder because sometimes it's fun and nice to just wander through all the shit I've collected.
If I organized everything, I couldn't browse through it later and be surprised by what I saved.
I do try to keep the folders from becoming too large, and I separate non-anime stuff. I also have a dedicated reaction/reply folder.

If I delete a picture then it's fanart that I realize doesn't actually look good. Having a huge ass folder of pictures of my waifu doesn't mean much if more than half those pictures look like shit. Anything else I don't delete for this reason
