The one issue I had with it, sometimes, was that the backgrounds looked photoshopped. It was a rare occurence but it does take you out of it. Still, pretty good imo.

Asano uses greyscaled photos he takes as backgrounds, so that would make sense. You can find videos of him demonstrating the technique on youtube.

Everything he's done has its fans, but it's been hit or miss for me.
I adore Punpun, Solanin is fantastic (definitely read it), What a Wonderful World is also great, if you liked Solanin you'll like it, and the currently-printing Dead Dead Demon's Dedededestruction is up there with Punpun as my favourite right now.
Couldn't stand City of Light or Nijigahara Holograph. Too bleak, too edgy. Those elements are definitely there in his later works but they're a helluva lot more mature imo
