What does /a/ use to read manga? After HoneyView got a horrible UI update, I started using web-comic reader on firefox and bato.to but that no longer works.
>>
Mangasee.co is literally the goat site with high quality scans and unlike shitty kissmanga you don't have to scroll to the side when there is a double spread page.
>>
I just use an older version of Honeyview. It's not like it forces you to update.

Honeyview is pretty great on the PC. However, I either read my manga on my kindle when it's a full tank, instead of a single chapter, due to laziness, or on MangaStorm on the iPad using KissManga and Batoto sources for single chapters.
>>
You nigger's got Mado, there's practically no reason to not download even thought it would be fairer to download from the scanlator' site.
>>
>>134462804
Most of the new stuff on mado are batoto rips. If I'm not going to download from the scanlator's site (that is, if they even have one and and have download links there), you might as well read it directly from batoto.
>>
>>134462875
The problem is

- You're still reading online and subject to your mobile data
- You're still dealing with batoto's slow as shit servers
- You're giving fucking batoto of all faggots, money.

I don't live on a shitty 3rd world country and I use my home wifi to read it, not mobile data.

They aren't really slow
>- You're giving fucking batoto of all faggots, money.
Better than the alternatives, though KissManga is also really good.
>>
>>134462982
I don't think you can use your home wifi while at work to read manga.
They are slow, and most certainly slower than scrolling through a locally stored chapter.
None of them are good, the only good one was MangaToshokan and that died because jews, Batoto goes out of its way to remove manga that their landwhale fujoshit admins don't like.

Oh you're so cool man using memes you don't even understand! But I'm a nice guy, and I'll spoonfeed you, don't worry.

Streaming anime is bad because of compression and loss of quality, there are sites that upload manga and host it without any loss in quality, so go fuck yourself and leave this board.

It's more comfortable to have the zip and read it on a viewer, but reading it on a site like batoto shouldn't make any difference

I tried HoneyView 3 but just couldn't get used to it, scrolling is painfully slow and you can't configure that feature (or turn off smooth scrolling), which means that my only option is using fullscreen but fuck that.
I've been using CDisplayEX for the longest time and only recently found out that it still gets updated (and it even got the "remember position on exit" feature I've wanted for so long in one of those updates) so I suppose I'll keep using it. I had to dodge 3 hundred botnets while installing it and a few probably made their way through but I don't mind it.

If Manga Watcher is better, I'll definitely try it out. The syncing and free downloading already sounds better than Manga Rock's hands-on backup and paid-for download slots.
>>
>>134467499
>But it pulls from mangareader, mangafox, batoto and two more.
All three of those are missing tons of manga for one.
Two, Manga Rock purposely excludes manga, even from sites it pulls from.

>Do you mean the app, or the manga itself?
The App. It hasn't updated in months.
It technically still works though and he updated it, finally, after the batoto URL change to bato.to or whatever. But yeah the syncing is nice, and there is even a website that syncs with all the data. I sync with my phone and tablet.

It doesn't let you scroll to the next page without jumping to it.
ie one long continuous scroll and being able to see the previous image along with the new image.

It still jumps to the next page instead of showing both the old and the new.

Like this. This is correct. Just generally without the middle bar.

What the '1' does or any number in that section is how many scrolls till it jumps to the next page.
>>
>>134470815
I don't know what the hell you did. Mine does not do that at all. Make sure you have the latest CDisplayEx and set it to default settings and go from there. I have never had the issue you have.

The fuck are you talking about.

The issue is that it jumps to the next page. It doesn't display page X and page Y in one continuous scroll, it shows one page, then it shows the next when you scroll down. No in between.
>>
mComix

FOSS and better than CDisplayEX
>>
>>134471346
Can I do this?
>>134470947
That is almost all I need in a reader. To be able to continuously scroll, and see both pages when scrolling inbetween.
>>
>>134471390
Why the fuck is that a dealbreaker? I don't think it does that but then again I haven't tried because I'm not an autist.
>>
>>134471448
If you've never used it then yeah ignorance is bliss.

Jumping to next pages is jarring as fuck compared to a smooth scrolling of each page. Plus it makes fapping 100x better.
>>
>>134471188
So you are saying that you want it to look like >>134470947
There is no option to do that but you can have it set to double page. Or if you are a /g/ wizard you can write a script and inject it into the program to allow you to do that. Or just ask the guy who maintains it and he might do it.
>>
>>134471512
I just use double page view.
>>
CDisplay, because I've been using it for a decade or over now, and I'm scared of change.
>>
>>134471515
>Or just ask the guy who maintains it and he might do it.
I think I saw a forum post about it when I was searching the options. But yeah I want to be able to scroll and see both pages.

I don't really like the double page even though it's nice on a big screen.
At this point I just download my porn for a backup and read on the website, because I have multi-page viewer as well as manga loader, which does what I want.
>>
Honestly, wanting to read manga scrolling down as if it were a webtoon is kinda strange.
mcomix is simple and has pretty much everything I need.

>>
>>134471930
It's like you've never read a physical book before. If anything, it's the opposite because you can't be surprised by flipping over the page like you should have been.
>>
>>134471708
Agreed

mcomix uses the numpad for scrolling too so full-screening it and using the numpad to scroll and page up/page down to advance pages is comfy as fuck
>>
>>134471785
>objectively
Let's not start with that, it's just a taste. I agree that scrolling down instead of having to click is easier, but I still like to jump from page to page, getting the surprise of the whole new page at once. The manga are almost all originally made for book format, there isn't any advantage to take.

>>134471930
Ah well, if it's about fapping preferences, there is nothing I can argue with.

I'm on a fucking computer, not reading a physical book. It's a different format entirely.

Even my ereader lets me scroll to read when reading books if I want to. I don't, because reading books is different than reading comics.

Actually looking in to it my ereader lets me view multiple pages even when in page to page format.
>>
>>134472018
The only reason physical books don't do this is because they can't. There is no reason for us to hamper ourselves when we are consuming it digitally anyway.

>>
>>134474255
Except it makes complete sense to be able to scroll and see the next page while scrolling in a digital format. There is no need to reinvent the medium, because people have made extensions, addons, and programs that do exactly that already.
