I hate how Kyoani's newer, higher quality works aren't as immersive but instead have more filters and effects and weird camera angles like Hyouka and Eupho.
Makes the shows less enjoyable, in my opinion. The last time they focused more on immersion was Tamako Market and it was great.

What? Hyouka and Eupho were definitely more immersive than TM, especially Eupho because it felt so cinematic.

It may be more of a subjective thing, but the way K-On and Tamako Market were animated was all the backgrounds were really detailed with eye level camera angles and were pretty much static unless the light changes. It would feel like you were actually there, watching the characters interact.
With Hyouka and Euph, the camera angle would suddenly shift into an unrealistic viewing angle, colors would shift dramatically, and would pretty much jerk you out of any immersion because of the sudden changes.

Disappearance actually had a sense of atmosphere and tension to it, on top of being really well directed. Even their other movies don't match up.
