The VN was pretty readable despite the bullshit but the anime was utter nonsense.
The prologue alone could be six episodes easy.

The only reason the VN worked was because the character development was drawn out for so long. The slow progression of [choose girl] towards falling in love with Yuuji is made much more believable due to its sheer length and because of how fleshed out the characters were.
The anime was laughably silly. Even the Amane backstory was a poor imitation of what it could have been, but, to be fair, that was about the best arc of the anime regardless.

Insanely long common route before the branching paths kick in, but it has plenty of funny moments. Characters are really memorable. Michiru, Sachi and Amane all have routes worth checking out. Makina is for lolicons only because her story is shit, and Yumiko is the bestexample of how not to write an interesting plot. It's boring as shit.

Believe me, I read the VN completely. The majority of what happened there could easily be scrapped and it still would make more sense.
The common route was fantastic.
Most of the girls routes were shit. The only decent one was Mitchers and that's because it was the shortest. Amanes dragged on forever and I probably fell asleep 12 times trying to get through it.
