What most people don't understand is that animation quality is very important to the nips that buy these things. The poor sales has probably a lot more to do with the loads of QUALITY than anything else, if they want to support it they'll probably just buy the LNs.

It's why the mystery genre died out. Anime origionals are too risky but basing it on a source material that has proven itself means all the spoilers are there and people have read it already. So the only genre that works with source material already out is harem, all your waifus animated.
