Yes, the manga was a lot better without the random fillers the anime shoved in. That whole stupid Yamamoto chasing Yoshino scene in the second episode was so annoying and made Yoshino out to be a lot weaker and less scary than he was. In the manga he beat the shit out of her right away and scared her like mad.

The anime adapted the whole series except for the 6 special chapters since the anime and manga actually ended around the same time. Anime had some weird random fillers though.
