It's a little early to make the call, but if they keep doing what they have been, it might very well be. Sure, they dropped the ball with the previous episode but otherwise this season holds up great, certainly better than S2.

Yuru yuri means soft yuri. It's just means non-sexual yuri. I wish more people read the manga because earlier seasons of the anime cut a lot of the yuri out to pass it off as a SoL comedy. That's why we get so many retards saying X character isn't gay.

They're going out of their way to try to do a show distinct from the first seasons, maybe they thought it would look like they're imitating Dogakobo if they kept it.
I miss it, but I think this is the best season nonetheless. And not even because of all the gay. I just feel it has a better flow, feels more like a CGDCT with gags than a comedy with cute girls like it did before.

They seem to be going off the manga a lot more where-as the first two seasons had more anime-only scenes. I'm conflicted about it though.
On one hand I like seeing manga scenes animated, but on the other hand I feel like the pacing, timing, and comedy of the manga is superior.
Also, the cute moments are way better in the manga.

This season doesn't make me gleefully happy like the first two seasons did and I'm not sure why. Maybe TYO made the characters looks and personas less bright and happy? No Akarin~?Maybe because I was depressed at that time and it was my favorite escape from reality?
Kyouko/Ayano is only getting more pure with time, though.
It's too different to compare to the previous ones. I miss how Dogakobo did things, but that's not to say I don't think this season is great.

Dogakobo did well on the adaption when yuru yuri was still trying to find its way and was very focused on comedy, now that the source material got its style and lighthearted interactions, dogakobo wouldn't be up to the job anymore. TYO does them good.

The first season had plenty of yuri and extended those parts well. It made more changes than for season 2, yet the third season has been nothing but small changes. People really overestimate how "hyper" Doga is like they haven't watched in a while. Season 3 has been taking out the small character interactions and exaggerated reactions that have alwaus been a part of the manga. I haven't forgotten all the scenes and chapters where they are just sitting around and still manage to be entertaining. TYO has kept some and has had some good original additions, but overall has been disappointing.

The iyashikei shift only started with the OVA.
Over-the-top comedy and iyashikei are rather incompatible.

The manga is still very good. Dogakobo seemed to be a match made in heaven. The anime did what good anime should do, and added so much to each character. This season is average, just going through the motions. The 4koma shorts on youtube are both funnier and comfier.
