like 90 min into the movie they act as though this was supposed to be shocking to the audience when you knew it all along

also on the scene where tomoe dies the tone is extremely confused

I preferred manga Kenshin trying to find Tomoe with aggression rather than the empty void Kenshin in the OVA. You'd think she wrote that she left him for another guy or something from that reaction.

The (prequel) OVAs were truly good.

The biggest surprise of all is that the OVAs were done by studio DEEN.
