Just finished the first season. Pretty good and the ending was at least satisfying. Is season 2 worth watching or do they fuck it all up?

As a huge psycho pass fan, I say skip it OP. No Kougami and the main villain is lame. The movie is better than all of season 2 combined and so check that out.

I'm normally a die-hard completionist, who won't skip anything - even if it's mediocre or bad - for a more holistic view on the work as a whole.
PP2, however, is steaming hot garbage that adds almost nothing to what came before, if not outright devaluing.

I like completing shows myself, but by god, Season 2 was such a shit-fest that it wouldn't matter at all if you skipped the whole thing. The only good thing from it was Akane just being Akane, and you already get that from Season 1 and the movie.

The worst with S2 is that they kept baiting you with quick Kougami "apparitions" and what looked like a great villain just to better slap your face with their dicks and pizzas.

Frankenstein and Dracula COULD both have been fantastic villains, it's just that the show fucked them both up so badly. Frankenstein's existence and actions just didn't make any sense, and Dracula went from mysterious and terrifying to whiny momma's boy.

yeah, Kirito could have been a great villain too, but the biggest disapointement was really Togane(motherfucking 45 years old momma's boy)
Compared with Cyborg hunter, Choe Gu Sung(he was great) and Makishima, S2's villains are really garbage.I'm still mad about Kagari and Gu Sung not getting a propper grave. They could have kept them alive it they weren't going to replace them with good character

The actual worst part of S2 was how horribly it jumped the shark. I could have probably enjoyed it as a shlocky genre-romp starring the PP cast doing their schtick if the show had properly set expectations, but it actually unironically tried to pass itself off as something subversive and edgy in the most inept way possible. It was just an awful, sometimes hilarious train wreck.

Now, try guessing what a season where the only protagonists are Kougami, Ginoza would look like.
Kougami's part would be your "unlicensed detective" part with Kougami back in Japan, living in the less Cybil controlled suburbs, resolving affairs the Enforcers couldn't handle for a respectable amount of money all the while trying to find out why the reason the system so flawed.
Ginosa is working on normal cases with Akane, Yayoi and the rest of the team(it is hinted he starts wondering why Akane has so many encounters with Nany cyborg, but he tries no to think about it because it clouds his PP)
They meet Kou at the middle of the story, but he escapes and keep running away whenever they are close to catch him(exept Akane, the others don't really want to catch him).
The end of the season would be Ginoza finding out what Cybil is after looking up some infos Kou sent him.
