I trust them pretty much completely when it comes to adaptations of completed source material. There's no reason for an original ending, so Bones predilection for terrible writing, story direction and endings won't play a factor. When it comes to just adapting things faithfully and occasionally inserting great animation, Bones is pretty high up there.

Reminder that it was mainly GONZO who did FMP and that Kyoda also is an extremely component mecha anime director who also was an assistant director for RahXephon. Also Concrete Revolutio has had really solid animation this season so I can trust them to make this work.

I'm super ok with this. They have the entire plot already written out for them so they can't fuck it up and Bones is top tier animation. Noragami's been great so far, Kekkai Sensen was good, and Concrete Revolution is on a good path. Bones is in a good spot right now.

Shows don't generally change VAs barring someone dying or whatever. VAs are viewed as being the characters themselves, so it's a somewhat lofty position.
They're not going to be switching VAs for any of the major characters. That should be the least of your concerns. Dubbing might be a bit different for those that care.

I think Bones would first try to find a Japanese animation studio first, before they would seriously even consider a Western studio. Aside from being much cheaper and there being less hassle having to communicate, Bones is obligated to try to hire small local studios anyway, and those studios are always looking for a contract.

I rewatched all FMP for the first time in like 8 years and it turned out way less entertaining than I remembered it, with TSR being especially unsatisfying and lacking in everything besides animation. Sure Gonzo's FMP has some bad direction here and there, some episodes were plain terrible (pic related), but it doesn't leave the bad aftertaste unlike TSR.
The question - did anyone else think the same or it's just me being a fag?

The first season had so many episodes that felt like a drag to sit through including the competition one you posted and the whole Helmajistan mini-arc that had that anticlimactic showdown between Gauron and Sousuke, when he finally catches up to him the battle basically ended offscreen.

Bones is one of the only studios I've seen that manages to have painfully drawn out climaxes and STILL manages to make it seem rushed.

It will be faithful to a tee and any original changes made are ones Gatoh approves because he thinks they will improve the story like he did for s1 and TSR. Bones shitty' writers aren't getting anywhere near FMP.
