As others have said, the new studio doesn't seem to be as into it as the previous and their direction choice of trying to wrap different stories into a single day seems to be doing the pacing more harm than good. The difference is that Minami-ke's second season also completely destroyed how the show played, somehow - it felt completely different from S1. When S3 came around with S2's looks but S1's soul, it was already too late.

Lately I've been thinking it's all Namori's fault. A cast of one-dimensional gag characters in the most generic setting possible can't outlast 2 seasons and remain as entertaining for 24 continuous minutes during a 3rd. It only holds up as a manga because you can read a chapter in 3 minutes then stop. As for her behavior, all of the older yurus, being older of course, tend to take their yuri to the next level. Sometimes the means are healthy(-ish) like Nadeshiko, sometimes not so healthy like Akane and Tomoko. But of course, Akane's behavior is also a bit of a carry over, too.
