ITT: We talk about how this amazing series will never get adapted
>>
>>133102047
It's a good thing it'll never be adapted, there is no way an adaption would make it justice, and even then it would be pretty fucking rushed.
>>
>>133102047
I'm not sure why people think the low sales means no adaption ever. That's not always the case.

For example it's entirely possible that this could get an international re-release and an anime could be used as a form of advertising.
>>
>>133102097
I could see how, with a few slight modifications (for obvious reasons), the first volume can be adapted faithfully. I'm sure a studio like Madhouse could do it justice.
>>
>>133102047
Maria is my waifu.
>>
>>133102174
Aren't international releases handled by different publishers who buy the rights? So it's not like there is one entity who does an international release, and original publisher isn't going to care about advertising something of low demand. All the publishers involved in releasing it internationally would have to get together to back an adaption. I would imagine that the international market for nip LNs doesn't warrant a fully produced animu, at least one with the quality that we want.
>>
It's a good thing it'll never be adapted, people would find out how shit it really is and LNfags would have to do massive damage control by blaming it on the adaptation yet again.
>>
>>133103709
Go to bed, Kazuki.

It's getting a new release in Poland, actually. Just as baka-tsuki finishes the Polish translation project for it, kek.
>>
Just came here to say that i finished reading volume 4 and that Kingdom royale arc was Goat shit.

Now I'll leave before some fucker spoils shit.
>>
>>133104805
I was thinking Shaft but I don't know how Mogi is gonna do head tilts in her wheelchair.
>>
What is it about the story that you find good?
>>
Is it actually good or is it "slightly better than the average LN" kind of good?
>>
so, how was the ending? I didn't read the final volume
>>
>>133102174
I don't get why people say the perspective twists in the first novel can't be adapted. Any director sufficiently artsy could handle it.
>>
>>133102047
Never adapted? well, nobody knows it
And yes, was fucking great
>>
>>133102047
so did Kazuki ever recovered in the end?
>>
>>133104873
It's ranked #2 on MAL. Personally I think it'd be my favorite anime series (and possibly best series in general) if it were adapted properly.

>>133104873
It's actually good, it doesn't feel like they're wasting your time in any chapter.
>>
>>133104855
The series is full of plot twists that I can never predict but make perfect sense in hindsight. The author has this way of leading everyone down the garden path.

Also, the mind games and mindfuckery is brilliant.
>>
>>133104895
By the very end, yes.
>>
>>133104855
The frequent twists, the highly analytical characters, the yandere, and the dialogue really hit the spot for me. Nothing I love better in a story than solving convoluted mysteries.

>>133104919
Yeah, but who gives a shit about MAL rankings?
>>
>>133104895
Yes, but also implied he could completely regress at any moment.
>>
>>133104919
yes, but MAL isn't Japan and we don't know how has the reception there
>>
>>133105110
It has high critical acclaim but very low sales, partially because of the nature of the story, and partially because the author took two haituses. You can't afford to take haituses if you're not Togashi.
>>
>>133105151
if it was very acclaimed maybe someone could put money to it to make something great, or make a sales boost, but if the story is finished i don't know
to be fair, togashi never take hiatuses, he makes hiatus arcs
>>
Is there any precedent for something like this being adapted? I can't think of anything so I don't exactly have high hopes.

Just finished volume 2 and it was a bit of a challenging read but it's actually good (not just compared to LNs which is a very low standard).

Even that 2nd novel, which most people initially felt was kind of unconnected and least exciting, ended up having a fuckton a clues about what goes down in volumes 5 and onwards.

God, an adaptation by SHAFT would be amazing. I can't even imagine how great the "movie sequences" would be.

>people would find out how shit it really is and LNfags would have to do massive damage control by blaming it on the adaptation yet again.
It's true that every LN is always overrated as fuck including Hakomari, but it's still very good.

Even with its flaws and edginess, it would still be one of the wildest rides in anime.
>>
>>133107155
I don't think there's anything to be gained by encouraging a retard to read it, they're just going to whine and bug us with stupid questions later.
>>
I only read this because I was told the MC was yandere, is he?
in volume one it was only slightly since he stabbed Mogi
volume 2 was a shitfest I should have skipped
volume 3-6 shows him doing whatever he can to protect maria (not yandere)
volume 7 and he slaughters everyone
took a while to reach that part
>>
>>133107053
There's a translation project on baka-tsuki with all 7 volumes, pdfs and all. You can also find the pdf for volume 1 here:

First, he let Mogi get hit by a truck. She was the stabber.

Second, if you think Vol 5+ wasn't yandere you might not understand what the word means.
>>
>>133107341
he was a yandere since volume 5, easy. just a self-aware yandere. Also, he never stabbed Mogi in volume 1.
>>
I finished reading this yesterday, Kazuki losing it was great.

This

Sounds like proper development for me desu
>>
>>133107341
He was always crazy, during volume 1 and the time before it. So you could make an argument for yangire.

He didn't knowingly fall in love until around 3/4, and it didn't switch to full yandere until 5/6.

Is it? I haven't read it, but I got spoiled on most twists and they sound pretty retarded.
I don't remember Hakomari ever having dumb twists or event without foreshadowing (except maybe the end of volume 6).
>>
>>133108030
Lost their way.
>>
>>133107341
Why do people hate Vol 2 so much? Even if it was the worst it was no where near shit tier.
>>
>>133102047
Man, i will never forget how vol 3 and 4 had me at the edge of my chair.
>>
>>133108242
You do not spoil yourself. That is bad. Read it for full viewing pleasure. Probably the best fantasy light novel I ever read. Also the twists have a better light if you read it.
>>
>>133108176
As much as I love Yuasa, I can't think of anyone less fit to direct Hakomari.

>>133108326
Because it is the worst. Just like Magmadiver in Eva, is not on the same level as the rest of the series.
>>
>>133108242
It is more like revelation. The dialogue is what makes the story fascinating. Far from cliched tropes of the demon lord stories. It makes you unexpectedly the emotional impact of the narrative as well as the interaction between the characters.
>>
>>133108673
See the emotional impact I'm sorry.
>>
>>133102174
I don't think you realize how low the sales for this light novel were. Or anything LNs the author wrote, really.

I've already discussed all the books in depth over the years, and I bet it was with roughly the same anons every time too. But you should try to come up with some new topics if you want the thread to keep going.

Are the later volumes more straightforward than volume 2?

I just finished vol.2 in Japanese and I don't know if it's my poor Japanese reading comprehension or whatever but seemed really convoluted and confusing compared to volume 1. Also Riko's monologues were really irritating to read.
>>
>>133114417
>Are the later volumes more straightforward than volume 2?
Not really. After volume 2, the arcs are two books each. So the storytelling is a bit slower, but in exchange you have longer and more detailed plots.
