I've been doing 100 pushups a day to mimic Saitama for giggles. I've been doing it for an entire month, I'm pretty devoted. I didn't do the other exercises tho. The results are HIGHLY disappointing.
Basically, there are no results. I'm not stronger nor do I look stronger, also I am no damaged at all from doing so many every day. Just thought you guys would like to know it is a waste of time.

He gained the power through commitment, not the exercise itself.

You settled for something less, like Garou. You lacked Saitama's absolute commitment. And that's why he's a Caped Baldy, and you're just a man.
>>
I love how relatively easy are Saitama's training regimen. Like doing 100 of the basic exercises plus 10k every day is doable yet for the average Joe it would seem impossible.

I actually did the whole training too some time ago.
I did it without compromise, all the stuff without pause, all in a row.
I only last for a week. I was forced to stop cause I actually couldn't move my arms anymore. Couldn't sleep too because my arms were so badly hurt I couldn't stay in a position to get some rest.
I think I had to wait 2 weeks before it start to get better.

I hate this 'train HURD, get RESURDS' meme that exists in every anime. Working out isn't that simple. After about 8 pushups, all you're doing is increasing your endurance. Also, doing a particular strength exercise every single day is counter-productive as your muscles need time to rest in order to repair themselves and grow stronger (google "overtraining").
>>
I did Saitama's regime as a stupid teenager. It doesn't do much anything strength-wise, but ruins your joints because of the constant banging. Your endurance will be inhuman, though, I'm talking about never getting tired, ever.

Anyway, if you want to start with 100 reps per exercise, you got to reduce the range of motion and work up to full rom over time. Basically, just go up and down a few inches on the pushups for a start, 100 reps is possible then. After some months, you will probably be able to do 100 full push ups. Same thing with the situps and squats. Though for those, taking a short break between reps is easier than in push ups. Just go for a very slow jog for the running.
>>
>>133082799
As someone extremely out of shape I would like to know more about what you mean by "range of motion" and if the fact I'm a fatass changes anything when starting out.

>Famuree
>>
What if I do 50 pushups, situps, squats, and a 5km run every day instead?
>>
>>133082867
RoM stands for Range of Motion. 1 rom is essentially one repetition. So if you were doing a push up, you would start with your arms full extended, you would then lower yourself until your chin or chest touched the ground and then you would raise yourself until your arms are fully extended. This would be 1 rom.

1/2 rom would be lowering yourself halfway and then pushing back up.

1/4 rom would be bending your arms slightly, then returning to the first position.
>>
>>133082867
Just move for a few inches during the exercise. Don't do a full push up, just go down a few inches and push yourself up, just bend your arms a little instead of bending them fully in a pushup. Reduce the distance until you can do 100 reps. Also, you can google "range of motion" in the context of exercise, you know?

>>133082901
Not really. And your form will get better just by doing lots of pushups anyway.

>>

>>133086604
Not as hard as you might think given that you're clearly quite lazy. I am also "not a sport guy" and Sataima's routine used to be a portion of my own. Calisthenics are not my favorite though. Feels more right to move heavy shit around slowly, I dunno. Anyway, FITNESS IS FOR LIFE and you should all be ashamed if you aren't taking good enough care of yourself to be able to keep up with a joke training routine.
>>
>>133087656
>15 minutes
>Bunch of breaks in-between
It's not 15 minutes if there are a number of breaks. There's still the 10 km of running each and every day. That's pretty much 40-50m even if you do it straight with no walking breaks.

I think you're overestimating basic fitness requirements if you think anyone should be able to run 6 miles every single day. The other stuff I can agree on at least.
>>
>>133087752
You should absolutely be able to run 6 miles. That is, again, much easier than you seem to think, and not going to take you very long at all. Almost an hour? What the fuck, are you running or walking fast? This whole thing gets done in an hour at the gym, by plenty of normal people every day. With bathroom breaks and breathers and shooting the shit with the other people working out in between. GO. TO. A. GYM.
>>
>>133077369
I highly doubt you did it everyday and all at once OP.
>>
>>133077534
Thats the joke though. But doing it nonstop 3 years might be impossible.
>>
>>133087914
This all at once thing is dumb though. Everything about the routine is completely fine, but even if you do it for a while, you shouldn't just bust out all your reps (of anything) at once without taking your breathing into account.
>>
>>133087899
>Scoffing at me saying it takes almost an hour to run 10km
Confirmed for complete bullshitter. Literally do not even know what you're talking about.

Do yourself a favor, and Google average time to run a 5k. Those are for people in shape too, and not a BASIC requirement.
>>
>>133077369
High reps build endurance, not strength. I would be honestly surprised if you aren't able to do more pushups in a row now then you were a month ago. So the training did exactly what it was supposed to do
>>

It is meant to be a joke but it could actually benefit people to do these workouts everyday with proper rest and three squared meals a day with a lot of water. Its 100 x 1 push ups in a row then 100 x 1 sit ups in a row then 100 x 1 squats in a row without stopping then running a 10k. There are no real breaks in between and that ups the intensity of the workout by a lot. This does not take 15 minutes. The average 6 mile or 10k run takes about 1 hour to 1 hour and 10 minutes for an untrained person. Sure its a joke but the joke isn't that its easy or ineffective the joke is that he can kill god-like beings after only doing these starting strength workouts for like 3 years. It is an effective workout to help someone get into alright shape.
>>
Push-ups fuck up your muscle balance and posture. Sit-ups fuck up your lower spine. Running ten kilometers every day breaks your legs. Squats is pretty much the only part of the menu that isn't horribly damaging to you in the long run.

Eating right is just as important as working out though. I didn't make up anything, all of that has been researched and proven. Almost all experts agree that ancient army exercises like sit-ups or push-ups are not only completely pointless but even dangerous.

The key to getting in good shape is varied practice that involves many muscle groups at once and a healthy diet, not some one-sided bullshit moves repeated to the extreme. A couple of years back, there were these 100 push-ups challenges and whatnot spreading through social media, which were just incredibly retarded and only helped the dumb, impulsive retards trying them to break themselves.

One hundred a day isn't that much though, but you also have to take into account your form and your sets. Are you doing 100 push-ups in one go?
Are you doing it in sets? How many repetitions per set? How much rest in between? Are you doing them PROPER (slowly and with your elbows inside)?
Are you actually working your chest or are your arms doing all the work?

If you wanna get /fit/ by bodyweight exercises there are many better ways.

You need to fucking rest. If you do it every day it's called overtraining. You're not going to get any results. You're better off doing it 3 times a week.

This. throw in some pullups, get a bar for the doorway or work on your forearm and then do them on a doorframe. If you're not doing pullups you're going to look weird and be totally unbalanced, throw them in and it's a good workout at least.
>>
>>133104127
Do them leaning against a wall. I really hope you're joking though. I went to a military school for fuck ups, and one time some kid came in who couldn't stand up from his seat without sweating profusely. I was put in charge of getting him decently fit and he could actually do a couple of push ups and run reasonably quickly for a little bit. Honestly, you just need to try and do some exercise whenever you've got some spare time; don't worry about everyone talking about workout routines, if you're that unfit anything will help and you'll start seeing results pretty quickly when your muscles start to un-atrophy.

Basically, there are no results. I'm not stronger nor do I look stronger, also I am no damaged at all from doing so many every day.

Because:

1. Your form sucks, guaranteed. You're probably flaring your elbows out and/or arching your back

Listen to podcasts while you run and find a long enough route where you either don't have to circle around the same area at all, or just once on the return trip. And occasionally change up the routine. As long as you're not running along a busy street and need to watch out for traffic, and you you're properly fueled, long runs are fun and addictive as fuck as long as your body can take the extended strain.
>>
>>133096589

How many sets does it take you to do 100? It took me 8 months to get to 100 in one set. My chest and triceps are noticeably bigger. I also feel better on a day to day basis, just because I'm doing something to actually fatigue my muscles rather than sitting around all day.

From my perspective, you did something wrong if you got no benefit from it.

The probability of you putting in consistent effort in biking while watching anime, is highly unlikely
>>
>>133103278
>muh cardio is pointless meme
Cardio actually makes your body healthier and more longevous. It doesn't make you stronger or more muscular looking, but it makes you healthier, which should be the point of exercize and diet. You /fit/fags forget that everyone on /a/ is a little girl, we don't want to be musclebound freaks, if we want to exercize it is merely to make ourselves feel better and happier as good exercize does, not to make ourselves look less like our ideal feminine form.
>>
Every single thread has this shit, it's unbelievable.

No he doesn't take breaks, he does one hundred full push ups, chest almost hitting the floor and straightening the back. Then he immediately does one hundred full sit-ups, fingers behind head, coming up and fully straightening the back then descending. Then he immediately does one hundred squats, ass nearly hitting the floor and going all the back up. Then he immediately runs six fucking miles. RUNS, not a light jog that you could complete in two hours, not a fucking powerwalk like a faggot that would probably take your unhealthy ass about four or five hours. A full force run for six straight miles, every single fucking day.

>hurr durr I did 100 push ups it was ez

Garou also broke his limiter, but their limit breaks were not equal, partially due to the mentality they had.

Garou in the end, his spirit was weaker, he gave up in a way. No matter how infinitely he could evolve, he eventually was beaten down mentally and could not see a path forward.

No, you see, it is normal, if you do it like an average person, taking breaks to recover and when you aren't in any condition to do it

Saitama said every day, for three years, and he means it. Doing that wont turn you into some super powerful god like being, it might actually badly injure you, but if it doesn't you will be in pretty damn good shape.
>>
>>133117091
I heard in another thread that Saitama still does the routine every day, but it only takes him five minutes to finish it.
