The closest thing Naruto had to a real father, and the author forgot he even existed and didn't include him in any way shape or form in the ending, even though we remember back to several far less significant characters. It's not being a hater, his dying was stupid and pointless. He fulfilled the requisite mentor must die role and was completely forgotten.
