Slayers wasn't anything special at the time, but watched the entire series back this year and it's just solid everywhere. The backgrounds are pretty, the characters are memorable, and the story is a fun parody of fantasy settings, that also does serious very well too. 8/10 would watch again

nice little story worth the watch.with a bit of rejection and friendzoning thrown into the mix for the anime but just watch out for the manga though because shits pretty fucked up. another rival video girl gets fucked long and hard for a week straight and gets mind-broken and turned into something frightening. anime ending is cut short in comparison to the manga because in the later he has to prove his worth with a lot more pain as opposed to the former.
