He introduced the concept of an objective scale when he rated the series. Ignoring how silly it is to allocate a rating after watching one episode of a series, neither show has done anything to elevate them beyond being very run of the mill.
DanMachi in particular is so conventional that they didn't even need to take any time to introduce or build the world in any meaningful way aside from the very cliched fairy tale style opening monologue.
So I think it's fair to vehemently disagree that either show is "10/10". At least at this point.

This is not people trapped inside a game thought, therefore characters are at least on role.
The thing I couldn't deal with SAO wasn't the main characters (there is lot of people lot more annoying and gary stu than Kirito) but the secondary characters, that were suposed to be people playing a game but they acted as if were actual knights, calling Asuna "-sama" or playing whores or dressing as if they were an army and acted as if they were soldiers.
At least in this anime characters are what they are suposed to be.

While i agree that a lot of guys on /a/ could stand to be a little more comprehensive when they express their distaste for a series, I think the general idea remains intact (so long as at least one person communicates the specifics).
That said, the show could get better. But as of this moment, it seems to be doing all it can to tell us that it has no intentions of diverting from the conventions it has so desperately stuck to so far.
And that's disappointing, because the art is quite good, so it's like watching a very well dress, well spoken gentleman stand at a podium and start rambling about nothing in particular.
