Dubs deserve to be hated. Not because there aren't any good American voice actors. There clearly are, as American cartoons are proving regularly. The problem is that these real actors actually demand real money for their services, which is more than dub companies are willing to pay. And so they get the leftovers that weren't good enough to become real voice actors.
Big budget stuff like Ghibli is the obvious exception here. There are more exceptions, but very few.
