IMO they kinda fucked up conveying that Vivian is getting "out-teleported" by Merlin. The sequence in the manga made more sense, with Merlin first cancelling every teleport attempt by Vivian, then sending Vivian on a thrill ride. See, the thing with the whole coded message at White Forest is that it originally wasn't one.

You don't go out of your way to create complex storylines right from the get-go, in case the series ends up getting axed.

It's pretty evident with NnT, in many ways. Actual plot pieces started falling to place sometime after Ban joined, which is where the pacing starts to get slower.

Stuff like the Sacred Treasures and such are good examples.

Nakaba just did a fairly good job at making it into a plot point later on.

To be fair, we haven't seen much of any other clan except human yet. The fairy forest was burned down when the most powerful fairy wasn't around, the only golems we've seen are from Diane and she left the giant clan when she was a child so she probably doesn't have any specific training on her giant power, and the vampires only face the Holy Knight, Sins, and the Demon clan - we don't know how the other clan would fare against them.
