I haven't heard what C;C was about besides it being awesome, but C;H was an excellent concept that was kind of squandered and lets not even get into how awful the anime adaption was, while R;N was a shit concept that was boring to sit through. That's probably why S;G was so popular though maybe C;C will take the crown once it gets enough popularity.

I dunno, as interesting as Takumi was he was really hard to actually like as a protagonist, while Okabe was chuuni as hell but also very likeable and entertaining. Chaos;Head's still good and it's far better than Robotics;Note as far as VNs go but I do feel Steins;Gate executed it's premise better and had more entertaining characters overall.

Takumi's a huge piece of shit when you get down to it, but it depends on if you enjoy an mc like that as well as his thoughts and reactions to the situations. Okabe is a lot nicer and more confident and what not so more people tend to lean towards that. I agree on the execution, but I prefer C;H's premise a lot more personally.

PC port never, so fan translation is very unlikely at all.
The most recent console which games you can translate, patch and run in emulator somehow is PSP which is irrelevant since Vita.
There is still possibility of Youtube translation though.

Stein's;Gate is adapted from a VN and it's the second game in a series of Science Adventure VNs from 5pb.
Chaos;Head was the first while Robotics;Note was the third and Chaos;Child is the fourth. They're all in the same universe and they reference the earlier games rather frequently.
