Bellri's development is kinda weird since it goes along with the adventure. Its like with each new location there's a slight goal shift(which was never stopping the war) up until he's revealed to be Aida's brother.Also its pretty fucking subtle just like a couple other character related things in this show.
Eps 1-6, only was infatuated with Aida, wanted to spy on Ameria.
6~11, can't go home, army is fucked up, muh taboo, better see what this is all about now that moms here
11~15, protect megafauna, willing to go along with Aida(really, Cahills) plan.
16~21, fighting for my nee-sans ideals! "I HAVE A SISTER Y'KNOW!"
With droplets of angst inbetween.
It all ended up just like what concept and pre-release info said. Brother and Sister on an adventure, the brother fighting on behalf of the sister.
If this show got the 0079 treatment in terms of compilation movies(with some added scenes to flesh things out) it'd probably be one of the better entries in the franchise.
I am still enjoying it immensely despite that though.
