Why does almost everyone on the Internet trash SAO? Is it really that bad?
I don't know actually. I actually didn't particularly like it about halfway through, but I see SAO get shit on by just random people who haven't even watched it nowadays.
It becomes garbage as it goes on, so it couldn't hurt people to just try it out before shitting all over it.
It feels really strange to see SAO get shit on by normal people as well.
It's immensely popular among casuals, so /a/ will hate it forever and ever. But in all honesty, the first half of both seasons is really good, followed by a boring and terrible second half.
Believe it or not, it has got to the point where casuals have begun to parrot the SAO hate. It is especially commonplace for people who pretend to know a lot about anime even though they either don't watch anything or just started watching.
I'd say SAO hate is more popular than SAO at this point. Not to say it isn't bad, but it would be really funny if there was this trend reversal in the near future where /a/ starts liking SAO because normalfags hate it.
The problem lies in the concept in which the main character can't lose and at the same time is the best player in the game. There is no trial only completely devastating everything in his way. His biggest failures are everyone else around him failing.
>SAO hate is more popular that SAO
This is true. You can't go anywhere on any image board and on any select board without getting flamed for mentioning SAO in positive way.
It's almost the same for Attack on Titan, except SAO gets way more hate.
They don't call 4chan the internet hate machine for nothing. I'm sure /a/ started it.
The cave episodes of Sinon's arc were pure Mozart. Don't try to prove me wrong, faggots.
>I'm sure /a/ started it.
I don't know. I wouldn't give /a/ all the credit. Japan holds a similar sentiment.
/a/ was pretty loud about it, but I guess this just shows the natural progression. I mean, it took 3 years to get to where it is now.
SO EVERYTHING THAT MAKES ME WHORE
Which one's worse, SAO or Guilty Crown?
It's just mediocre and popular.
Some people get super pissed when mediocre things get popular.
Because it's got an overall low quality (pacing is terrible, animation isn't exactly fantastic, the story is cliche'd , etc) but it's very popular. Bad things becoming very popular tend to cause long term trends towards bullshit, so people who actually like anime for what it is aren't happy to see something barely breaking the line into mediocrity being one of the most popular anime of the last 10 years.
Something as offensively bland as SAO being as popular as it is doesn't leave a whole lot of room to expect good things from the industry.
