Why do people like SaeKano?
To me it's one of the most generic harems of recent memory? I don't understand its popularity
Japan loves shitty harem with a bit of comedy/drama. Just look at Nisekoi and Nozaki.
But they don't like harem in fantasy setting, they only like harem in fantasy setting if it's ero.
>To me it's one of the most generic harems of recent memory
Nigga what? There are other five harems airing this season, and each of them are the epitome of generic.
Saenai is the best harem of the season.
It introduces a personality type not normally seen in harem.
The initially-uninterested/unattached-deadpan personality. It's nothing completely new, but it's certainly a first in that it presents it as a main contender in a harem.
>It introduces a personality type not normally seen in harem.
there's literally no one like Megumi in any other harem show
I'm mainly watching for Eriri and Utaha. Aside from being best girls, they make the show interesting through their genre savvy otaku knowledge as creators. They themselves are the embodiment of 2D moe character heroine, but they can step out of that to be meta.
I really want to like Saekano but it's just not very good. It has its moments of being genuinely clever, and it also every now and then pulls something that's actually funny, but most of the time it's just plain, generic, and uninteresting.
I mostly find it entertaining since it makes direct anime references and it's a harem aimed straight at the otaku community. The characters thought are the weakest part of this show, as the girls are average at best and the MC is /a/ incarnate.
Indeed. And she knows it.
Don't move too suddenly, that stick up your ass might splinter.
>looks like the best girl of the season
>qualifications for best girl rely solely on visual appearance
Megumi is the only reason you should be watching this show since gets 90% of the screentime.
Erifags are being noisy again I see. I shouldn't have let that Utaha thread earlier die so quickly. It seems that people can get along better if a neutral girl like Utaha is in the OP.
every thread dies unless it's Megumi focused.
This guy gets it. Heaven and Hell is always the best option.
Cousin is second best girl just behind Kato.
I like all girls except Megumi. Why can't Megumifags respect this?
I don't give a shit about your opinion.
Last arc of the anime.
I'm not. The kouhai loli arc is next. Assuming they do 3 episodes per volume, Michiru will probably appear until episode 9.
should be something like
episode 6 Utaha one night stand
episode 7 Izumi appears, Eiri gets emo
episode 8 Eiri dere scene
Megumi's scenes are mostly over besides one scene next episode where she steals the show in 20 seconds
it was consensual rape
I'm a Megumifag but Utaha is a close second favorite.
She's going to have the next episode for herself, and it'll be great.
>most generic harems of recent memory
>MC had a fateful encounter with the main girl. Yes
>>She/he is a transfer student/event happened in the very beginning of highschool year. Nope
>MC's parents are not present. Yes
>>He lives one roof with the main heroine. Nope
>Main heroine is very peculiar. Yes
>>A tsundere? Nope.
>Osananajimmy character. Yes
>>Having love triangle with the main heroine. Nope. (The main heroine is actually a 'third alternative')
>MC and the main heroine goes on a date just because, and without forming a steady relationship first. Yes
>>Harem member(s) following them and gets jealous in the background. Nope
>Obligatory FS episode. Yes
>>MC gets in the girls room without knocking right when the girls are changing, then they proceed to shout "Kyaaaa, MC no ecchi!!". Nope
>MC is an otaku. Yes
>>He has no goal, obscure, average in every single damn thing, bland as fuck. Nope
>MC is unintentionally reeling the girls by sweet words. Yes
>>Happened during the first concession of the harem. Nope
There are still more. I didn't say that its not generic. But it feels like the author just read a book named 'how to make a harem' and using it as a mouse pad or using it as a wedge or something.
