The fastest way to accumulate ranking shards is to to show up to the colossal boss. Throw everything you got, it by far gives the most shards per hit. The amount of shards you get multiplies if you manage to do 100mil to it. And you get at least 1mil shards for participating, and 3 mil if you win.
