This is an adaptation but at the same time a studio spear headed project. The publisher is not part of the committee. KyoAni is the head honcho meaning they inject the biggest funds.

Yes but that doesn't mean that they might actually land a huge loss here. The difference with studios being on the top of the food chain in the production committee and those below is that they spend a lot on it. Take for example KyoAni's financial reports.
They've doubled their sales but at the same time had a significantly lower profit. Why? It's because they fund more.
I get the sense this is going to be an actual drama instead of CGDCT, that guarantees it will flop right?
