Definitely don't agree here, I think it's because the show never made fatality that much of a big deal during their fight against the Vertex.
The battles were tough, but it's all shiny and pretty and shit, you never really felt like they were going to horribly get mutilated or eaten.
So the fact that Yuna can be so brave and positive despite it all don't seem off to me.
