Seems generic and the art can be fucking horrifying, but some character designs are fucking awesome and I'm still following to see what comes out of it.

This, with it's current popularity and staying in the top 5 for now it seems to have passed the initial hurdle and should at least go for a year, it's up to the author to really define what kind of manga he wants it to be.
That said I like All Might's contrasting art style, and it's potential to be like Mx0 where every character in the class is a "Main Character", but the fights didn't really interest me. Also will be interest to see the other freshman class when they are eventually revealed.

It only had a few chapters out, pretty hard to judge something from that. As for something getting more attention after nartuo ending, it still only has 13 chapters out in English, with twenty in Portuguese, a series getting a surge of popularity this quickly after it has come out can't really be tied to something else that easily, due to lack of previous exposure.
That said the threads so far have been terrible and filled with trolls, shitposters, newfags, and even shippers.

Here's my honest opinion, it's very meh. I do not see why people keep saying this might be the next big thing. There's really nothing special about this series at all. Personally I think it has a lot of cliches and is incredibly generic in it's set-up and concept, it's execution is solid and well done though, All-Might is probably one of the better characters and is really likeable because he is sympathetic as a character, he is both weak yet powerful and comes off as vulnerable but comedic, similar to Vash.
The art is expressive which is good, there's never a page where a character's expression doesn't match the emotion of the text and it makes the characters themselves "pop" they all look different enough and you don't get a lot of same-face that you get in other battle manga.
It had an earnest and good start in my opinion a good highlight would be Deku's scream atop the pile of garbage, it has a very "invigorating" feeling with it's scenes, similar to Big-O how it can engross you in a scenario if you let it. That being said it has charm but that will only go so far, the plot seems rather aimless as of now and can go anywhere. I'd like to see it do well, but something tells me this author is going to crack under the pressure or run out of ideas fairly quickly.

Double edged sword: it could provide longevity for the series if the author wants to expand on powers by giving them new ways to control/apply them or giving them outright strength power-ups, but doing so can easily exacerbate to DBZ power-level syndrome. The other issue is just the fact that new characters can be introduced with crazy-ass powers just as a way to drive conflict--which brings us to the next point:

Bleach syndrome. Too many fucking characters. It becomes impossible not to either just write a bunch of them off or outright seem to forget that some ever existed. Characters become a means to an end, which is a shitty way to write characters.
The other issue with a lot of characters is one that is more universal among long-running shounen: "story arc" format. Each story arc is like a separate story within the story. This happens when the main cast vanquishes its conflict and needs more characters and environments in which to encounter more conflict. Flashbacks and exposition everywhere. It can drag.

It might be because there are like 50 different versions of Castillian--some of which are spoken as if the entire dialect's speaker-base suffers from mouth-cancer. Spanish is sort of long-winded, though. It doesn't flow as fast as Portuguese or Gallego.
Honestly, though, I felt the same way about Portuguese the first time I heard it. I think it's all about just exposing one's self to the language, and subtitles don't hurt if it's possible to get them.

I can't say whether or not this is true because I'm ignorant of the specific reasoning behind our universe's many physical processes, but this is the sort of "overskilling" that I was worried/excited about when I posted >>117457322. If it is indeed a frictional force, what if Gravity Puff ends up being able to generate crazy amounts of heat to burn of melt touched objects--either in the form of a fire punch or a sustained sear that simply goes into effect after she touches an object and sends it floating.
There was a specific panel about the costumes in which the author hinted at this sort of thing: something about a costume design might be altered based on further discoveries made about the subtitles of a hero's power. There's also the fact that super angry kid's fire power isn't magical fire throwing but rather he just sweats nitroglycerin from his palms and ignites it. It's already getting to JoJo stand level.

I love this series. The art style is very light hearted so far and I like it a lot. It's not the best but its good. It reminds a lot of One Punch Man though. I would have liked to see the MC go about with no powers longer. It made it a little more interesting that way. I would like to see him beat people with creativity and his own strength. Learning to use the enemies powers against them or something. I don't want to see him just punch somebody and win in one hit. We already get that in OPM, and I rather not have that element to this series.

Anon that is a terrible sword because it is a terrible way to make a sword. There are far better organic materials, technically there are organic compounds that aren't incredibly different from steel. Various insects have shells that are enhanced with metal or are otherwise actually compatible to metal in toughness and sharpness. I don't know exactly what the limits of her ability are, but a sword isn't a big deal even if she has to limit it to materials found in the human body.

He only did that once and it was to a robot. It might have taken years for All Might to reach the level of control he has, so once Deku starts to learn to control his powers he might forgo using them at all since even a partially controlled hit might kill someone thanks to his inexperience
