In another 20 or 30 chapters or so though it depends on your frame of mind. Here during the Cal Mira island arc in the LN we were introduced to Glass' allies since they met Naofumi and co. Personally I don't think the overall plot is changing, the author is just expanding out on details and arcs that he had wrote during the WN, the overall story still hasn't changed even a small bit.
