The people who actually know anything about the internet have failed to ever "crack down" on piracy whatsoever. What makes the Japs think they will be more successful.
>>
>>111186908
Are you really that autistic?
>>
Well if they really make a good alternative for a cheap price, without country restriction I wouldn't care (if they also subbed them).

But that's not going to happen so I'll just continue with xdcc.

And what's the prison bullshit. They would have to sue the people in their country, which would be too much work. Also come at me bros, you can't do anything to me as long as I'm in Switzerland.

To be fair VN piracy is pretty much dead in Japan

We usually have to wait a year after release to get our hands on it, and that's just for the popular stuff. Because they've arrested all the guys uploading them
>>
>However, by attempting to serve the overseas markets with legal content it will make it easier for foreigners to open their wallets.

Oh yeah, I can't wait to get invested in <insert name here> and then have it get canceled and never find any scanlations. Tokyopop burned me too many times on this, Japanese publishers can fuck off.

As someone who plays a lot of NTR eroge, this is not really accurate. Releases do take a little longer on average nowadays, but the longest I've had to wait for something is a month or so, and even that is pretty rare. Popular/hyped stuff is generally up fairly quick.

Fucking stop. The reason anime is worth a shit is because it's not pandering to murricunts. The moment they start doing that, we'll get god awful garbage like Space Dandy and PSG.
>>
>>111186719
This is the 5th thread we've had today, does this really warrant that much attention?
>>
Reminder for all anons that 9 out of 10 times, the people who make a shitstorm about morality and ethics are the same people who don't abide by them and actually do worse things.

This number increases to 10/10 in anti-pirate cases as they have been observed and proven in these past few years of:
a. Drug trafficking (Vytas Simanavicius case)
b. Defamation (Prenda/Malibu)
c. Uploading torrents and copyright material themselves unlawfully (Megaupload case, big stir in the courts a month or so ago).
This leads to hypocrisy.
d. Breaking the 8th Amendment of the USA under the justification of example making.
e. Actual cybercrime of spreading malware and trojans on the Internet (https://torrentfreak.com/30000-pirates-receive-fake-fines-with-trojans-attached-140708)
f. Unwarranted and unlawful incarceration beyond what the law regards as a legal period (Piratebay founder)
g. Bribery, blackmail and perversion of the justice system (Piratebay founder, KimDotFat, Prenda)
h. Wasting more tax-payer money than artists lose to piracy over unlawful use of police forces (KimDotFat case and many more) when the police could be saving actual lives.
So anti-pirates are also potentially indirectly responsible for civilian deaths due to siphoning police reserves.
i. Filing millions of false DMCA notices and taking down many legitimate sites while hurting many businesses in the process. Censorship.

And not to mention that the world of artists is not represented by anti-pirates as over half of it is pro-piracy and independence from labels/distributors/Hollyshit.

Plenty more can be added.

Also, I spend more time reading nukiges than watching chinese cartoons
>>
>>111187155

We're completely aware of that, hopefully. People who try to do "good" in the wrong direction by using morality is only putting distance on themselves.
>>
What other choice is there to the west? You can't get it legitimately at the same time as the Japs unless CR decide to pick up it.

It's like when HBO were shocked that GOT was the most pirated show overseas whilst it was still on a week's delay.

People get tired of waiting and risking spoilers.
>>

Well he's right anon.
>>
>>111186719
Sure its inconvenient for me but I really can't blame people and companies from trying to protect their intellectual property. I feel the same way about video game DRM. It's not like I wouldn't do the same thing in their place.

That being said, pirates will find a way. They always do.

>>111187227
The thing is without piracy anime and especially manga would have even less of an international market than it already does. Without access to copyright violated translations and no television access to actually watch a show very few people internationally would be interested in the medium.

They need piracy to expand their market.
>>
>>111187265
They say something like this every other year. The only crackdowns have been inside Japan.
>>
>>111187100
not to mention that its actually now Impossible to do this the "proper" way, as they want it done, because now we have localization and distribution companies actually tampering with and censoring western Blu-ray releases of all things (Haganai Next) so doing it that way is out the fucking window.

Because of the language barrier and the nature of importing, downloading and fansubs is the only proper way for anyone outside of japan to watch anime.

I don't see what the problem this. what they should do is make it flexible to get BD's over here.

That's how you can literally fix things.

>Download episode?
>I really love this series, I want to buy it on Blu-ray
>???
>Profit

Unless people are stupid as shit and they distribute in shitty DVD-like boxes, then yes. it'd be illegal.

Hence "This is a free fansub. not for sale."

>>
>>111187256
I understand shops taking a cut because they purchase in bulk and store that shit. Publishers take risks.

Online companies devoted to this kind of digital only content distribution have a single cost, bandwidth. Yet they take a much larger proportion than they deserve for their minimal effort. Sure, it's free money for the publishers in Japan who make deals with these distributors, but none of it is really making an impact on the actual media at all. All that matters is BR sales in Japan.
>>
Does the world just want us dead? With the Sad Panda Purge, loli teetering around being banned, and now my Anime at risk. How is anyone suppose to look forward to a future this bleak.
>>
>>111187290
yeah I'm sure they're thrilled about expanding their market into the area of people who never pay for anything. it isn't the 80s anymore, you don't need to pirate anime. manga and visual novels might be more of a grey area because theres so much that will never be licensed.

>>
>>111187414
No. Only an absolute moron thinks that if they cut their price in half, they'll get twice the business.

The current BR price is perfect for Japan. It's just what the otaku are willing to spend. If you put that shit up for sale cheaper in a different country, they'd reverse import it and you'd lose a huge amount of profit.

If you cut the price in Japan to match the international market, you'd get no more sales, and then you'd go out of business because of the much lower profit margins. 10,000 otaku support the entire industry. Your average salaryman doesn't watch late night anime, and never will.

The porn industry had a problem for years now with it being completely stale. What is killing the Porn Industry is not piracy but failure to adapt to a new business model and the flood of amateur-sites on the net.

Literally no one wants to see the same washed up chick sucking the same dicks if they can just go on the internet and watch porn that some guy doing his hot gf uploaded.

I am having trouble understanding what exactly it is that they give a fuck about.
As you said, they clearly don't give a fuck about the western market.
They also don't give a fuck about hairy barbarian money in their domestic market.
So what is left that they could give a fuck about now?
Is this some kind of "This is my ball. You are not allowed to play with it." thing?
