If anyone is at a loose end and would like to help out, there's a couple of things that you can do.

1. Just upload some more manga that we don't have yet.

2. Try to finish off a series that is missing files. Bringing ongoing series up-to-date would be fantastic.

3. Update the spreadsheet with more information. It's located here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NJrGFAJWoJVnFMI9cJDJLm0O1A5Cv6ukB0FTo7-kaV8/edit?pli=1#gid=0

To upload you can download FileZilla and connect to the host ftp.madokami.com
There's no username or password needed.

Looks like they skipped over looking for peripheral signs of Thyroid dysfunction. Poor show.

Although was not aware there was a Berry's sign.

But back to the topic, is there any kind of format you need to have when uploading shit to these? Because I usually unpack my archives, label the volumes as [title] - [volume#] - [volume title (if I know it)] and chapters as [chapter#] - [chapter title]. If I rar'd what I have that isn't up and upload it in that format would people be pissed off.

Files are more important than naming schemes.

As long as it's clear, no one will care.
If you want to put in the extra effort, use https://gist.github.com/Daiz-/bb8424cfedd0f05b7386
>>
>>110061877
That's probably fine, but if it's a tank scan you should include volume information.
>>
>>110061877
Volume or (mag) is mandatory so you're actually not using it right.

Use whatever you want, it's not like it's important if it's consistent. I recommend to organize your files beforehand, though.

>>110062102
The scanlators don't always list the vol, I don't see why it should be mandatory when all the chapters are numbered anyways. Mangaupdates shows the number of volumes but not the chapters which belong to them (would have been useful though).

I think we should make a pastebin.
>>
>>110063294
>The scanlators don't always list the vol, I don't see why it should be mandatory
Because Daiz-sama said so.

It's stupid idea anyway, after volume is done, most people drop chapter numbers altogether and list only volume when archiving. You have ToC for the rest.
>>
>>110063974
The point of (mag)/(v00) in the filename is that it should tell you immediately whether it's a magazine scan or a tank scan.

>>

>Which you will know as soon as you open the archive.
Not necessarily. The archive might have tank covers but have everything else from magazine scans.
>>
>>110064244
It's as easy as reading it while checking your filename. If everything is there, copy, paste, and change the numbers. Then, do it again for any new manga until you're so familiar with it that you don't need it anymore.
>>
>>110064400
Is there really any release like that? And does it even matter? The quality of pages will either be worse (you will know it's mag) or same (it doesn't matter).

>>110064468
>If everything is there, copy, paste, and change the numbers.
The problem comes from irregularities. More that one extra? Extra not on the end? Unnumbered chapters? More than x volumes, more than x chapters? Each of it has a rule, do you know about them?

Would this be the place for my copy of Biscuit Hammer that I photoshopped the translators' notes out of?
>>
>>110086197
I wrote a ripping script which can do it. Other people probably did the same. The files are stored on their servers.
>>

Is it the one at github or something easy like userscript?

So where do I upload my 2tb loli sadpanda?

Pretty sure I uploaded some stuff in the wrong place.

At least it's on the server now though.

Care to share? And what's the current status of ComicWalker ripping? In last thread months ago someone managed to decode images and that's where it ended, as I remember, but I'm not up to date about it.
>>
>>110082876
Volumes 1-25 are from the mediafire anon and in very good quality, the rest is by a bunch of other groups and the last few volumes are in ridiculous resolution and uncleaned, so the filesize gets up to about 500MB per volume
>>
For those wanting to upload sad panda stuff, an anon already set up a site.

I have a few raws and some other things sitting around in my computer, but before uploading, I have two questions.
Do I use the same naming scheme for raws?
Do I use (mag) for web rips, or do I use (web)?
>>
>>110091135
If the rip came from a magazine, you use (mag). You'll use the same naming scheme, but label its language because it's not in English.
>>
>>110091200
Yeah, but what about something that was published in a web? I'm talking about the original, Japanese publication, and not CR or something like that.
>>
>>110091250
I'd use (mag)
>>
>>110089690
It's finished now anon
>>
>>110091250
>>110091280
(web) is also fine
>>
>>110091280
I guess I'll do that then.
>>
>>110091418
Uh... Ok, then I'll use this, since it includes more info, and then if someone wants to change it, they can do it.
>>
>>11009142
I'd use (web) actually

I have another question regarding titles. It says we should use Tittle Case. How does this work for Japanese tittles?
>>
>>110091598
As in Romanji or Kanji?
>>
>>110092117
Obviously, romaji. I have the raws of v1 and 2 of ano hi mita hana, but I'm not sure how I should write the tittle. "Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wa Bokutachi Mada Shiranai"?

Someone explain to my retarded self how this is any different/better than the bt torrent.

Files wont be unavailable due to lack of seeds.
>>
>>110092339
I've never had that problem, but alrighty.
>>
>>110092306
It's simply a matter of not having everything in the same basket or in something as volatile as a torrent.
>>
>>110092339
seeds isn't an issue in bakabt.
>>
>>110092379
Bakabt bans alot of stuff and uploading there is a pain in the ass.
>>
>>110092395
well, only a very very small fraction of the manga is banned in bakabt.
Sure, uploading in bakabt can be a pain, but it is an archival site, so the process is slow to maintain quality. It is really well seeded too...

I've been trying to install this, but I don't know shit about coding. Every time I try I get an error on ImageMagic installation step.

Who is the lucky fucker getting all this shit dumped on their server? And can they even stand up to the bandwidth up and down over the next few months? Poor bastards bills will be a few hundred at least.

>>110092741
What language did you use to write the decoder?
>>
>>110051090

>sadpanda

My gods. Is that a full sadpanda back up? Or every selective?
>>
>>110092989
Are you crazy? It's just what people have been uploading. Making a full backup would take days, even if you automated it.
>>
>>110092920
£40 / month

>>110092989
Only ~1,600 galleries. I've considered making a full English backup of sadpanda but there's so much shit there.
>>
>>110092952
Rips the images with a userscript. Descrambles the image with something I hacked together in C. The C is probably overkill since it descrambles the image without losing any quality. I could probably hack together something to just save the png which is like 2 or 3 times bigger.
>>
>>110092203
I guess
>>
>>110093177
Could you share the descrambler source code?

>>110093177
I modified the viewer.js to just dump the contents of the canvas to img elements in the document, from there you can save them out.
>>
>>110093177
Interesting, someone wrote something in Ruby that uses ImageMagick? I see. It looks like it uses default recompression. I'd rather just use png than lose quality for no reason like that.

>>110093767
I commented it out and just got pissed that I couldn't get the jpeg. Then I fixed that. They've since turned off decryption of their images, so a bunch of work I did earlier matters doesn't really matter anymore.
>>
>>110093746
I basically ripped apart a version of jpegtran. This would probably help absolutely no one, unless they really wanted the original quality images.

>>
>>110094091
You'd need to build the rest of the library, and figure out how to compile it.
>>
>>110066234
You're a cool guy server anon.
I have a question though, how did you get this rig of yours set up?
I mean the server, the domain and the ins and outs?
Can this thing get dmca'd?
I want to set something similar for anime.
>>
>>110094197
>I want to set something similar for anime.
Not him, and I'm no expert, but I can tell you a few things. First, anime gets dmca'd much more often than manga. Second, anime is heavier than anime. A lot more. And a page like that would get a lot of downloads. The badnwidth needed for something like that would be expensive as fuck (unless you made it as something for personal use, with only you and a few friends to use). In other words, it's not a good idea.
>>
>>110054701
Are bleach/naruto/one piece / fairy tail ok?
>>
>>110090722
https://gist.github.com/anonymous/c88613c8ca7134418b57
It may be the single worst way to rip, but it works. It used to use a different method, but they appear to have blocked that.
>>
>>110094197
Server's from soyoustart.com (I got the £40, 32GB version), domain I've had for quite a while.

>Can this thing get dmca'd?
If anyone cares enough, I don't see that happening though.

>>110094291
This, torrents are more suitable (and used) for anime.
>>
>>110060129
It's my fault, sorry.
>>
>>110094291
>anime is heavier than anime.
>>
>>110094378
Yes, but be sure to do it right. Be sure to read daiz's filename scheme, and even if you don't follow it to the t (it would be better if you did), keep in mind what it says and be consistent with your filenames.
>>110094485
Yeah, I noticed after I clicked submit, but you get what I meant.

Neither did I. Messing with Comic Walker was the first time I did anything with js at all.
>>
>>110094378
No, fuck off.
>>
>>110093858
>I commented it out and just got pissed that I couldn't get the jpeg
Shouldn't matter though, if you have to de-scramble them, you're going to either have to use PNG, or loose more quality with recompressing with JPG.
>>
>>110094647
Nope. That is what >>110094091 is for. Entirely the original image. Lossless descramble.
>>
>>110094674
To elaborate: Comic Walker images appeared to be designed specifically to losslessly scramble them in the first place with their MCU on the right boundaries. It's not really surprising that no one believed me when I originally found out this detail. No one even uses the feature.
>>
>>110094674
Oh nice, never realised you could losslessly transform JPG.
>>
>>110094389
>Server's from soyoustart.com (I got the £40, 32GB version), domain I've had for quite a while.
I see then what? Do I get a physical server in my home or just rent it from them?
Excuse my ignorance, I've only gotten to this after MT got hacked.
