I literally never had an issue with any boss in this game. There's no trick or anything. Just get good.
Make sure you time your blocks correctly and get all the heals. It makes the fight a cake walk when you can eat a bit of damage and then heal from it.

Gets easier for a few bosses, then a difficulty spike out of nowhere, then way easier.
If you beat him you'll be in a comfy cruise until a certain last phase of a certain boss.

Literally beat him on the first try, I don't see how people have issues with him. I'm not bragging about my "skill" either, him, the beat, and the chain are the only ones I beat my first try.
