It's the Zelda game I have wanted for the past 20 years. It's exactly what I bought a Wii U at launch for.

Honestly I'm hyped and feeling tempted to buy a Wii U because of it. Grew up with Nintendo consoles, played most of the Zelda games, but jumped out of the bandwagon once I began maining on PC gaming. Now I'm considering a comeback.
What I'm most impressed is how this Zelda is pretty out of it's standards, with a very vast open world and mechanics similar to a survival game on PC, this one might be one of the best of the series.
Well doc, I dislike how flakey people are and how noone I know seems to know what loyalty is, why can't I just have a clone to fuck and hang with

Hyrule is going to be fucking huge. And there will be a LOT of weird, fun ways to "break" the game. We're also going to see a ton of returning items (boomerang, beetle, ice rod, etc.) that the player has to actually find in the world to use.

Lots of callbacks to older Zelda games. I know we're getting calbacks to the 3D Zeldas, but I want stuff from Zelda II, LttP, Awakening and Oracles! Also, I want playable Zelda as an unlockable or "hard" mode where you cast magic to attack.

It's the Zelda game I wanted since I was a kid. It feels more like a spiritual sequel the NES Zeldas than even OoT or Wind Waker did. I have watched webms, vids, and talked about it nonstop since E3.

I am you standard casual who only plays Civ 5 on a limited basis, because I loved RTS games as a kid. The last system I had was a GC, except now we pretty much have a Wii because my sister in law left it at our place two years ago. When I heard about this game I got all nostalgic and purchased the Ninty select TP for Wii. Playing through it now, and while it's not the same thrill I got playing the game originally, or even the thrill I got playing OoT or aLttP as a kid, it does make me consider getting a setup just to play BotW. If the NX is a GC2 I will get it as long as it also has a 3D Mario at launch. If not maybe I'll grab a cheap WiiU from Kijiji for BotW

I like the idea of coming up with ways to "break" is, but somehow I feel like that will mostly be limited to travel shenanigans in the overworld. The demo's showed the shrines as being entered with overworld hot-spots, so there is a chance that the dungeons are the same way. Once you have entered the shrine, there is really only a couple of loose items around you to mess with.

I also don´t like the fact that you apparently can do every dungeon from the start because that means that you probably won´t use your items in the dungeons to solve puzzles which only means that the dungeons won´t be much different from another

I hope at least the draw distance is significantly better on the NX version. Everything else I've seen so far has far exceeded my expectations of a modern day open world Zelda game.

We know that link can probably find a way to sneak into any area of the map early, but we also know that it will be hard without the right tools. Despite being able to pick any direction, this will probably keep us within a normal Zelda narrative the bulk of the time.
We know that Link can pick up food, resources, robot parts, and other junk. We have seen him cook up foods and potions. We have heard rumors about being able to craft devices, so that probably means that some village will have a tinkerer that can combine your found objects and/or repair the weapons you have grown attached to.
You can ride a horse, but horses don't usually climb mountains or fly, so I assume it will be hard to get the horse out of its starting area.
It may or may not be possible to beat Ganon at the beginning. They've said you can find him, but that may not imply that it is possible to beat him. Usually you need some specific weapon to lay a dent on him. Maybe this game will be different, but I slightly doubt it.
Some devices are acquired by completing shrines and using the reward orbs to buy other stuff. The glider cost 4 orbs. This will push completionists to visit every single shrine to barely have enough orbs to buy exactly every available device in the game with no change left over. This is basically par for Zelda.
The Master Sword probably exists. Link will probably find it, and have some NPC tell him that he can't use/pull it unless he completes his hero trials. Red, Green, and Blue pendants to prove your worth as a hero.
The Great Deku Tree lives, somewhere.
If you follow the story, Link will probably eventually come across princess Zelda. It's possible that Ganon already holds her captive.
If this is a resurrected Ganon, then expect a secondary villain to supply monologues. Koume and Kotake are prime suspects for possible Ganon resurrection. If K&K are in the game, possibly expect other Gerudo.

The games pretty much what I thought Twilight Princess would be. As a kid reading mags I really thought it'd be a huge open game where I'd wander around, find a mysteryous dungeon and explore it. Too bad it was nowhere close to that, but I'm glad it's finally happening.

It would be pretty cool to be in a place where you could look around and recognize it as a place you enjoyed in the previous game. Something liek a "my house was right over here" kind of thing. The nearest we really get is how OOT imitated most of the LTTP game locations, but it was done in backwards time 2D-vs-3D so it didn't mean much.

We know the Sheikah Slate picks up new abilities from the shrines. We know there are supposed to be at least 100 shrines. It seems doubtful that there are 100 new apps for the Sheikah Slate to download. Maybe a bunch of them are repeats, or are upgrades for abilities you already have. At least they are unlikely to have ads.
Starting near an old man in a cave. Ganon already being exposed but without elaboration. Free roaming. Easy death to be found everywhere. This is a clear homage to the original LoZ. How far will it go?

Off the charts. It's everything I've wanted in an open world game. It's open enough that you can go anywhere and completing any inane activity is still working towards a goal, but there's still some purposefulness to everything, rather than locked behind cutscenes and mission markers and RPG level and stat padding.

Working on backlag, minimizing the amount of time I spent playing open world titles, action-adventure titles, anything that resembles Zelda.
Basically I want to be so deprived of anything that reminds me of Zelda that I'm like a relapsed addict who doesn't realize that my tolerance has plummeted and overdoses, when Breath of the Wild finally comes out.

Considering rupees are still a thing (you can see them in the pause menu, even if it was impossible to get any in the demo), I'm sure there'll be a lot of merchants, even if they are hidden in caves.

Apart from the beginning Plateau, which is separated from the rest because it's the tutorial area, I'm inclined to believe the rest of the map will be traversable by horse. Or maybe they'll go the OoT / Witcher 3 route and let you summon it whenever you are. Maybe Link will whistle Epona's song, instead of using any kind of instrument. Or maybe the Sheikah Slate will play the song, I dunno.

So, it could be like this: You can't go with the horse from one region to the next, but if you fast travel, the horse appears at your side. Which would make you need to unlock the fast travel point in the new region, so you would be forced to walk for a while anyways.

We can't know until the game is out, but the promotional image doesn't necessarily mean that the sword is in that spot at the beginning of the game. The demo at E3 had a Temple of Time, with an interior that looked nothing like the resting place of the Master Sword. This leaves us awash in possibilities.

The location in TP, retcons the grounds in LTTP to be the ruins of the Temple of Time.
Even OOT had a Sacred grove with the same ambiance as seen in TP and LTTP for the resting spot of the Master Sword. Even the broken staircase was there. OOT simply moved the temple elsewhere for gameplay reasons.
In a faithful depiction of Hyrule, the temple can probably be considered to be in the woods.

I kinda find it amusing that different scenarios might prop up different timeline placements. I expect that Nintendo will probably spell it out in the game cutscenes, but even if they didn't, the location might be a good clue about how the world is how it is.
I bet Ganon stole the master sword so that he couldn't be defeated so we'll only get it at the end of the game otherwise the weapon drops we find will be useless.
I bet part of the 'optional' quest will be finding the sword but it's not required to go beat ganon since its confirmed we can go right to the end from the beginning.

Colossal battles.
Giant enemies, huge structures, chases at high speed around Hyrule, great heights and dimension. A games as open as this demands greatness and awe-inspiring things to happen. The Sheikah towers and Calamity Ganon might be a hint of that.

I don't think it was a natural evolution, they likely lost the ability to live underwater by the goddesses so they can't go snooping around Hyrule. Then the wings evolved thanks to Valooo.

You can think of the Rito and Zora as being blank humans that took on the features of their patron diety.
The ones that worship JabuJabu (Jabun), have fish features.

Considering it's a pretty high plateau, my guess is that the only "non-fast travel" way to get there will be stuffing yourself with stamina regen food, since it's a pretty high climb.
On that note, I really hope there are lots of ways of permanently increasing your stamina. The base level is just too low, you can barely climb anything and Link gets tired of running after two seconds.
Also, I don't like how swimming takes stamina. If you're sprinting and you fall in water, that's an insta-death since you won't have enough to get to any shore.

Nah man, go check any of the direct feed videos. The framerate goes to hell in certain moments, specially when Link climbs a tree for some reason. Maybe the game shits itself with the transparencies (the treetop becomes half invisible so you can see), but it's so obvious and jarring that I have no doubt that it'll be fixed by launch date. I haven't noticed them during battles though.
The draw distance looks good imo, specially when it comes to enemies, you can scout from quite far away. Also you can shoot an arrow straight up and it won't dissapear, like in many other games.

We also have no Kokiri present in TP, considering the layout of it's Hyrule with the chasms and tectonic shift at the time, it's possible the Kokiri became the Koroks and needed the ability to fly over the chasms and restore Hyrule to what it once was.

The trouble there, is that this is Calamity Ganon. Pure monster, usually reserved for a Ganon after he has been resurrected from the dead. OOT's Ganon is Ganondorf the living man. LTTP's imprisoning war was about basically the events of OOT, with the living Ganondorf that breaks in with his band of thieves. That would mean that Ganondorf was still sealed in roughly the OOT time period in that timeline.
For the new game to come between them, the game would have to start with a partial escape of Ganon's spirit form, and end with the status quo of Ganondorf still being sealed away so that he is fresh for LTTP. It's just not that epic for a console Zelda to end with a status quo ending.

I think Equipment management will be far better. Though I hope that item durability is much better then it was for the demo. Obviously they wanted to showcase item durability and if you had everything lasting a hundred hits, it's hard to do that.
If your weapons only last 10 hits, they will be absolutely worthless in the long run and you will need a stock of 10 weapons for a dungeon, or even more. Think about how long the average dungeon is in a Zelda game. Could you imagine getting into much combat with the way that Items break from the demo? No, it just isn't going to happen.
So either item durability goes up for stronger weapons into something like 200 hits. Or there will be plenty of chances for replacements.
Even from the demo though, it seems like you get tons of weapons just from the camps. Even if you are forced to use some Boko weapons, they are only a little bit weaker then Traveler's gear and you usually get something decent from the chest as well.

LTTP past was hugely popular when OOT was being planned. OOT was planned as a 3D remake of LTTP, so they built the sacred grove and stairs out in the woods. it would have been the same basic ruins setting as seen in TP. The Temple of Time would have been reached by the old broken staircase, except that the developers changed the story to the Imprisoning War instead of being a remake of LTTP. They moved the ToT into town, because it was a more accessible place for you to return to with your three pendants. What I don't is why OoT Link was so rushed, nothing had happened to begin with, Ganondorf only had a plan, yes he made treats to those with the stones but in the end he had to keep a low profile and neither Darunia and the King Zora where worried about it but not desperate.

Zelda and Link were both having nightmares of a doomed future. Zelda was freaking out believing it was real, and nobody would believe her but Link. The Deku Tree was aware that Link had a future, because something was weird about how Link had been left on his doorstep as an infant. The Owl would have been cool with anything Link was doing, whether it was saving Hyrule or going to a strip club. That is probably everyone that was really in on the overall situation.
