George Lucas needed to only state the very basic outline of the story and then just stay out of everything else. He hardly even directed ANH and had to make a TON of changes from what his original storyboard was going to be. I can't even imagine how bad episodes 5 and 6 wold've been if they let him direct them. Imagine the prequels with 80's effects. Sweet Jesus.
