Technically it's twice. They lost a game to the Rays at the beginning of a season on a Bautista slide (which was probably the correct call, considering Jose stuck his arm out as he slid). And then Hull goes and scores the Cup winning goal in overtime on this very play and the league does nothing so they ended up rescinding the rule and have Kerry Fraser come out with some post-hoc explanation on how Hull had possession before his skate was in the crease so the goal should count which does nothing but infuriate the fans. Yes, their customization options are great, but the in game UI is buggy as hell and feels like it's from 2005. There's almost 0 player interaction, trading isn't great, everything surrounding staff is dreadful. Managing your AAA and lower teams is a pain in the ass because of how their UI runs, hell even looking at other teams is a pain.
It's a good simulator and well worth the money, but no, it is not as good as FM. However it simply existing makes it better than 70% of sports, and it not ctd everytime you launch it makes it better than 95%.
