Friendly reminder that Nico Rosberg blatantly destroyed Schumacher during their time as teammates
>inb4 but he was out of the sport for so long
Literal rookies are given like 5 races, a season TOPS to be on pace and these are drivers who have probably never even driven an F1 car prior to their seat. Especially now that testing is like 2 weeks overall, basically you are expected as a rookie to be on pace and familiar with the car with de facto 5 days of on track time. Meanwhile le GOATmacher 7x WDC took TWO AND A HALF YEARS of testing, races, practices etc to match Nico "average" Rosberg.
>inb4 he was old
Again ,we aren't talking about some impossible crazy great teammate. We're talking about Nico Rosberg who lost the title twice in a row and is now looking to choke away his 50 point WDC lead. Sure Schumi was on pace and maybe even better than Rosberg by the end, but it undoubtedly leaves a mark on his suppsoed GOAT status if he got blatantly outqualified, outraced and outscored by Nico Rosberg for a good portion of their time as teammates.

He's got raw talent for sure, its just that he spent 5 years in F1 and barely showed any development. If you crash that often then you're simply driving too fast for your skill level.

in qualifying, yes. in the races, they were fairly even last year - with maldonado ahead several times before his car cut out or, more often than not, hit by another driver.

exposed how? he's had terrible luck this season. even at monaco he had troubles in quali and could put in one hot lap in q3, which meant he had to play it safe and secure a top 3 position before he could really challenge ricciardo. RBR's pit fuckup helped him win but ricky was still up his ass for 10-15 laps afterwards and he still couldn't pass hamilton.

Like I said, I personally agree with you that Senna is the GOAT, but in '88 Senna scored 94 points to Prost's 105, he only won because of the way drivers were able to drop some of their worst results. It's comparable to if Nico had won the championship in 2014 by getting double points in Abu Dhabi.
Obviously he was indisputable (except maybe Clark) greatest of ALL TIME when it came to qualifying, which is a big part of why he's my bet for the best of all.

Senna
>better qualifier FACT
>crazier pusher (this is the only area where Schumi has an advantage, consistency vs crazy pace)
>even more of a shameless cunt on track than Schumi ever was
>>68163466
I agree that Senna was better on the Saturdays, but Schumi was quicker on race pace, IMO. As for crazy pushing, Schumacher was a beast - races like Hungary '98 prove that.
Luca di Montezemolo always praised Schumi (even in the Alonso years) as being "a war-machine, able to drive a full race of qualifying laps".
He was also in the Prost mould in that he could push hard without destroying his tyres, brakes and engine, so that, to me, gives Schumacher another edge over a whole season.
Fitness-wise Schumacher was an absolute beast, and I think it's fair to say that he had Senna rattled over '92-'93 to the extent that Senna saw him as a bigger threat than Prost and Mansell (as per Jo Ramirez).
On the psychological side of things, if Schu could upset Senna mentally, that would give him a bit of an advantage, like Senna managed over Prost.
Plus, Senna split two seasons at McLaren 1-1 with Prost, who by his own admission (in '85, so can't be accused of making any excuses), drove at 95% after 1982.

wew
>Phillips, whose upper body was ground like a pulp against the track's steel catch fence and a caution light fixture at high speed, was both partially dismembered and decapitated, in what a photographer on-scene described as "as gruesome a wreck as I can ever recall". In video of the accident, the roof first impact on the turn 4 wall instantly killed Phillips when his head was ripped off of his body leaving him decapitated, both of his hands were cut off, his torso became completely disintegrated and half of his scrotum was ripped off. Footage from the infield of turn 4 captured his head, with his helmet on, rolling down the embankment of turn 4. In the aftermath of the accident, the first rescuer on scene could be seen running to the car with a fire extinguisher putting out any of the smoke he saw in the car, then immediately turning away from the wreck after seeing Phillips' body and realizing the hopelessness of any attempt at resuscitation. The track was littered with car debris, blood, and numerous body parts, necessitating a complete and lengthy red flag while track officials wearing surgical gloves placed white sheets over various body parts and carried them off the track in the vicinity of the crash. The driver's head (still wearing his helmet) was found at the entrance of the pit road, and one of his hands was found suspended in the retaining fence. Phillips accident became completely reminiscent to the fatal crash of Gordon Smiley during qualifying for the 1982 Indianapolis 500 when his car slammed the wall nose first at 200 mph, shattering the car, partially decapitating him by ripping the helmet and half of his head off the body and breaking every bone in his body, killing Smiley instantly.

What's the best and worst circuit on the F1 calendar and why?
I know you all like to shit on Tilke but I have no idea why.

>>68166545
>What makes a circuit brilliant anyway?
>What's the best and worst circuit on the F1 calendar and why?
More turns, less? Less and more elevation change?
>>68166545
>What makes a circuit brilliant anyway?
A good mix of corner types (high speed, low speed, chicanes, esses, hairpins etc), no awkward corners/sequences (e.g. new bus stop, Monza 1st chicane, China turn 1), not having the same/very similar corners multiple times in the same track (Hungary, Singapore, Sochi, Baku etc), few 90 degree corners, having elevation change is always a plus.
Corners like Bahrain turn 9/10, Copse, Spoon and Brooklands that challenge drivers by tempting them into taking too much speed into it, as well as causing them to lock their brakes if they aren't on the ideal racing line, are well-liked by the drivers too.
>What's the best and worst circuit on the F1 calendar and why?
The "best" and "worst" are pretty subjective as every driver and fan has differing tastes, but Suzuka, Montreal, Silverstone and Interlagos are all held in high regard by pretty much everyone. Interlagos is a bit repetitive, but has plenty of elevation change and challenging corners to make up for it. On the worse side are tracks like Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Shanghai and Sochi which have many repetitive corners or 90 degree turns, zero elevation change (which makes dull corners even duller), miles of runoff so a driver can go wide without penalty, and long straights into really slow corners, which is bad for racing as it spreads the field out (the "accordion effect", as Martin Brundle puts it).
>I know you all like to shit on Tilke but I have no idea why.
Tilke gets a bad rap because of the reasons I listed above. but mostly those reasons due to restrictions placed on him by the FIA (who want muh safety at all costs) and the promoters (who have a fixed idea of what circuit they want and want Tilke to deviate from it as little as possible). He could definitely make his tracks more exciting but they're not all as awful as they're made out to be. Some like Bahrain, Hockenheim, Istanbul and Malaysia are good tracks in their own right.
>>68166545
Sorry for the essay, anyway. To expand on Tilke criticisms, a lot of people think he butchered Hockenheim (but that was down to the promoter who wanted a more compact venue with better spectator viewing) and the regional government who forced them to replant every tree they tore down. Same goes for Austria, where he had to shorten the track because the old circuit was a deathtrap.

Last I heard someone said they were listening closely to fan suggestions and so forth but I don't know if it's true or shilling.
>>68166774
Apparently they invited some 'big' Youtube gamers that play F1 a lot to give feedback on F1 2016. I think most of them were pleased with what they have been shown.
They are also doing a closed beta soon so maybe we'll hear some more about the current state of the game.
I know a proper career mode is back and they added the safety car which is pretty neat.

Why does Tilke even design tracks like he did in India?
I dunno how clear it is when watching but if you've ever played that track in an F1 game or a sim then its obvious that the entirety of sector 2 and 3 are single file and more or less impossible to overtake without a huge risk dive.
I mean Tilke is a racer himself. He knows this stuff. Why spend tens, if not hundreds of millions designing a track that you know for a fact is going to be a shitty boring race because the track is not suitable for proper overtaking, outside of the ultra long boring DRS straights. India is actually fantastic to drive and S2-3 is basically a rollercoaster which is cool but for actual racing it is completely useless unless you're really into DRS overtakes.
>>68169395

>>68169159
Malaysia's good
>>68169721
Good for a Tilkedrome
>S1 is basically the same as China, I guess Malaysia came first but its still jarring as they were back to back on the calendar for so long.
>two long straights back to back
>The entire S3 is one of the worst and least pleasant things on the F1 calendar
>penultimate corner is arguably the worst corner on the calendar
At least its kind of fast I guess
>>68169395
I've heard his tracks described as "great for hotlapping, awful for racing"
So maybe he just loads his tracks up in rfactor, does quali runs for hours at a time and then decides "yep, good to go, no need to test actual racing"
>>68169395
Never even knew India had a track. Amazing how many of these new Tilkedromes have gotten built in developing countries.
>Why does Tilke even design tracks like he did in India?
>I mean Tilke is a racer himself. He knows this stuff.
Because they're commissioned for safety, that's why they all have gigantic run off areas. Safety. He doesn't give a fuck what they're like to race, he cares about securing more contracts. If he delivers what F1 are after then he will keep getting work.
>>68169900
I like turns 3-11, 5 and 6 could be a bit quicker/bigger radius but I love driving that entire sequence. the double apex is very nice in particular. from then on it gets kinda dull though, and turn 13/14 is just a smaller version of turn 10/11

>Massa's engine fails 3 laps from the end.
A minimum of 20 points gone from factors outside of his control. Hamilton won by a single point, that, but for Glock's stupidity, he would not have had.
"Fluke"?
Yes.
>>68170754
>>Massa loses the lead in Singapore because of Renault cheating.
because of a Ferrari pit fuck-up actually
>>68169395
>>68170400
It's also because the FIA now prefers to have """""well-rounded""""" circuits, with each sector showing different characterisics - fast, medium and slow speed sectors.
Every Tilkedrome after the early-mid 2000s had to follow this unofficial request. This, coupled with the fact that most of them had little to no natural contour to follow, make all the tracks like Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Korea, Sochi, India (and before these, China) seem very formulaic.
>>68170687
that explains it then, indian gp only debuted in 2011 and then got dropped after 2013 because the indian government were being jews and wanted a share of its profits
although whenever the calendar was brought up on the FOM intro before the race, Crofty would mention the calendar changes
was 2008 the meme season where ferrari started celebrating prematurely and then somebody else won the championship?
Someone who is in the know explain why Mansell was so disliked by F1 people (not fans)?
I know he was lazy and whiny but several people have claimed that Mansell is just about the worst driver ever to work with. Why exactly is this? Just because he le golf dude who couldn't be fucked doing anything with the cars except quali and race? In interviews and stuff he seems like a pretty nice and relaxed dude so it's odd to hear him described as the most unpleasant driver in F1 and such.
>"Hey Hermann, where you wanna put your newly designed track?"
>"Just put it in the middle of fucking nowhere"
every. single. time.
>>68170804
Yes, Ferrari fucked up because they manually operated the pit stop signalling system due to the unscheduled safety car and human error caused the early release, but if it wasn't for Renault cheating, Ferrari would have kept the automatic system in any subsequent pit stops.
>>68170949
>human error caused the early release
so Ferrari's fault then
other teams managed
>>68170814
>because the indian government were being jews and wanted a share of its profits
Actually, it was because they wanted the race promoters to make a (refundable) customs deposit on all the equipment (including the cars) that were being brought into the country, and Bernie refused to help the promoters out in making said deposit.
>>68171020
Yes, partly Ferrari's fault, but Renault's cheating triggered it.

also, he will be the second posthumous wdc.
>>68171070
Why?
Did they think they would secretly keep the cars in India and sell them? Are they retarded?
>I rate Schumi
>>68170854
apparently his personality was such that he thought his team was against him, even when winning.
peter warr's hatred of him was top kek.
>>68171201
No, it's just how retarded the customs regulations are here. Basically, the promoter was asked to make a customs deposit on the total value of the equipment being brought in (which, as I recall, was around $100 million).
Then, once the race would be done, that deposit money would be 98% refunded.
The problem with this was that Jaypee Sports (the promoter) was having issues coming up with enough funds at one go to make this deposit. So they asked Bernie to help, saying that if he agreed to pay the deposit, they'd pay him back when the refund came through, plus absorb the 2% losses by paying that out of their own pockets. Plus, they'd also pay the "entertainment tax" levied by the Government on the event organizers, since at the time F1 was not classified as a sport.
Bernie Shekelstone refused this offer, and instead decided to drop the race.
The jewery you refer to was the absurd demand of the Government that the teams pay income taxes to India, on 1/19th of their annual earnings from F1, since that amount was earned here. That was retarded, and the demand was eventually dropped.
>>68171209
>I don't rate Schumi
>>68171476
ah ok
thanks for the info
>>68171070
it was because the indian government classified f1 as entertainment rather than sport, purely due to entertainment having a higher tax rate, and so they believed they'd get more profit by doing so.
the customs thing was a non-issue
>>68169900
I like the penultimate corner and the final sector.
Tricky but satisfying to get right similar to the first turn (which is different to turn 1 China which is just shit and never satisfying no matter what you do)
The track is gonna be different this year according to Motocycle Tilke.
Almost every corner corner re-profiled a bit, mostly to help with drainage. Turn 5 has been banked while the hairpin is now hugely off camber. Like the inside has been raised 1 or 2m up while everything else is the same.
He seems to like it.

Yeah, those changes could be interesting. It does kind of give off the feeling that its going to kill the flow of the circuit a bit more. Not that it matters to me as I'm not driving it.
All in all Malaysia is not a bad track and I think the fucking with the last turn could be interesting if its really as hard as the guy says it is. It is not a perfect track but tends to create good racing and actual battles which is always good. Easily one of Tilkes best creations IMO

Obvious safety hazard. Banned when? Needs at least 5 meters of tarmac before that wall and the wall needs to have an armco barrier
In fact the reason for this is that the back straight is too long, definitely needs another chicane so drivers don't attack this corner too fast. Probably should stop going to Canada altogether actually, its a death trap!

>>68172842
You know the answer. The point of corners is to slow drivers down or to provide an overtaking opportunity, a cambered/banked corner does neither of these things and is too fast and too dangerous and too much fun really. Plus its easier and cheaper to just build a track on a flat field or desert in the middle of nowhere.
Even a shitfest track like Abu Dhabi could be greatly improved by introducing some on camber to certain corners and e.g. making the chicane that connects the two straights into a flowing, and perhaps banked esses section but of course no and too high speed and such.

Dude you live in America. I'll never understand Americans fears like this. You literally have ghettoes that are no-go-zones in every single major city of your country pretty much and you in fact have whole cities that are basically crime and drug-ridden shitholes with huge levels of violence and murder.
Not to sound all superior but in Finland there actually aren't areas aside from very specific neighbourhoods in a few big cities where you might actually get in trouble with a criminal element (mugged, beaten etc) and even these areas you can avoid trouble by using common sense. So called random violence where the perpetrator and victim do not know each other at all is extremely rare when it comes to cases of violence, murder, rape, assault etc. And most of the random ones are generally glorified barfights.
If you're from an area like I described then I can understand the trepidation but even then, most violence can be avoided by using common sense like e.g. not going to a favela or acting like an asshole or buying drugs off strangers etc.
>>68174491
if i went to the wrong neighborhood i'd just get mugged for the bantz. if i went to brazil i'd get mugged and killed because they're starving and desperate. they're a very different type of beast
>>68174491
But the absolute majority of America isn't like that. And the people that live in that majority don't go to those places that are like that.
Think about how bad an American tourist would stick out in downtown Sao Paulo, where naive tourists are literally targeted as such. I can 100% understand his trepidation about going to the Brazilian GP.
>>68174491
I know my way around the big cities in my area, where to avoid, where to flee to if shit gets sketchy.
I can also identify predators from body language and clothes (it's deeper than just "omg black guy baggy clothing")
In Brazil I'm not only a target for being a foreigner, not knowing the language, and looking out of place due to clothing- I'm also at a disadvantage because my acceptable level of street smarts aren't tuned for that society.
In this society the worst areas are the poor ones. You see poor people, ratty cars and crumbling buildings you know to be alert. In Brazil everyone is poor but just because a neighborhood is shabby doesn't necessarily mean it's dangerous.
We also don't have sophisticated street crime like they do involving misdirection, teams of people and skilled pick pockets.
We can also generally rely on our police to not be corrupted by drug dealers and willing to turn a blind eye to street crime for pay by gangs.
Also, the F1 race is the Superbowl of street crime there. It wasn't that long ago that an F1 team with a security detail was ambushed and robbed going to the stadium.
The vast majority of our crime is in the terrible neighborhood I would never set foot in. in open areas, city centers and sporting facilities you're generally safe. That isn't the case there.
>>68170754
>massa spins out of second place in malaysia and loses 8 points
>because of massa's spin, hamilton gains 1 point

>>68174491
>You literally have ghettoes that are no-go-zones in every single major city of your country pretty much and you in fact have whole cities that are basically crime and drug-ridden shitholes with huge levels of violence and murder.
And the police keep those no-go-zones isolated and pull over people from those areas if they stray into a respectable part of town. That's the dirty secret of racial profiling: it works incredibly well.
Defeating a culture of crime and degradation in a bad neighborhood is insanely difficult. Keeping that cancer from spreading and reaching the surrounding areas is what every metro police department in the country is trained to do. They're so good at it they train black people from terrible black neighborhoods to be suspicious of black people from their own neighborhoods.
It's actually not even racism, it's cultural. The culture of poverty and crime aligns itself along the racial lines of the communities inhabitants but it's not their race that's making them become criminals- it's the environment.
Contd...

You have one of the lowest crime rates on the planet. I'm not trying to dismiss your criticism I'm just saying truly bad neighborhoods with regular murders are a complex mosaic that varies wildly city to city and country to country.
We have a very serious crime problem with numbers that exceeds anyone else's. But it's confined to specific areas and as you stated earlier specific small cities (exception: Detroit ). It's also very easy to avoid in the vast majority of the country. In Brazil it's not easy, the poor pretty upon the working class nationwide.
>If you're from an area like I described then I can understand the trepidation but even then, most violence can be avoided by using common sense like e.g. not going to a favela or acting like an asshole or buying drugs off strangers etc.
This is wrong. Brazilian gangs aren't like desperate drug fiends which are the most common street crime committers here. Their gangs are organized, practiced and sometimes protected or even committed by corrupt police.

Been dying to go to Canadian GP but also just want to visit Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, the Rockies and the Yukon.
I get the impression Montreal just has a bit of sketchiness but nothing too terrible and Toronto only has a few clear cut areas (queen, sherbourne).

Like any big cities, Toronto, Vancover, and Montreal all have their crime problems. I live in Ottawa which is the 4th largest city in Canada and there really isn't many problems here apart from isolated incidents. Vancover in particular has one section of the city which is pretty much a haven for the addicted and homeless unfortunately, but I doubt you would ever actually end up there.
Toronto and Montreal are more like any medium sized city in the States, yes there will be occasional happenings and there will be drunk people causing problems late at night. I've been to both many times and only ever had one bad experience in Toronto where I saw someone get murdered on the street around 3 am Sunday morning. Montreal has more gang activity but they're not interested in anyone other than themselves.
Anywhere in else in the country is virtually devoid of crime that you personally would experience. I highly recommend it, we have a beautiful country (although not to different from the States).

That's because your ancestors weren't stupid enough to import millions and millions of niggers from Africa to save labor costs. Nor is Finland the "go to" nation in Europe that draws migrants from all around the continent and world.
The U.S. has niggers trying to cross the ocean on tire rafts to get in, Latinos from south of the border swimming rivers and walking across deserts to get in, and worse of all, liberal leftists that gladly import every low intelligence non-white poverty case they can find to issue stolen tax dollars to in order to buy votes.
The U.S. won't last another 100 years, but will divide into autonomous regions when the whites finally get tired of the leftists trying to destroy them with imported brown people.

DTM is not a primary series for anyone except some autist germans. It is populated by people past their prime, people who are generally more famous for driving in other series'. I don't really see how it is a great stepping stone towards F1 anyway unless you consider racing against an F1 retirement community somehow worthy of extra merit.
I think Merc is just forcing the DTM into F1 route anyway just so they can handpick their future marketing power talent and keep them contained in some shitty series until they start yielding results, or are needed in F1. Plus completely seriously the racing is pretty far removed from F1 anyway, much slower with huge heavy cars.
The best way into F1 from a driver skill development perspective is the typical singleseater route and then graduating from GP3 or GP2 into F1. But I guess Merc know that they can't hire a dude who might not be no. 1 in GP2 because the competition is so strong

>>68178008
i don't think they'd go back to V8s. it'd have to be something really futuristic. i'm too tired to think of any ideas. maybe use a different type of fuel or something
>>68178125
If literally no-one watches F1, does it even happen?
>>68178008
>Back to V8s when?
never. the only manufacturer who wants to go back to v8s is ferrari and that's because they subscribe to the mOAR CYLINDARS MAKE EVERYTHING V12 EVEN THE MOTORS IN THE WHEELGUNS circlejerk.
road car manufacturers are overwhelmingly moving towards lighter, smaller, more fuel efficient engines with fewer cylinders and pairing them with hybrid motors. the v8s are a dead end as far as development and road relevance is concerned.
what's more, if v8s ARE reintroduced, honda, and either merc or renault (i forget which) will undoubtedly leave F1 and fuck off to WEC. you won't get any more factory teams either; audi/porsche, toyota, bmw, peugeot, citroen, jaguar, etc etc etc are all going towards smaller, hybrid engines and wouldn't touch f1 with a mile long pole. you'd just have a grid of 5 ferrari teams and williams-cosworth.

F1 is just marketing to them.
None of their road cars use V8's (Merc has one or 2 V8 cars I think) and they want to sell their road cars by saying that their road cars are based on the tech in their world championship winning race car.
Whether that is true or not is irrelevant.
>>68178671

when bernie ecclestone finally dies, does anyone think the sport might find a boost in popularity due to whoever taking over not being 10,000 years old and changing things for the better?
>>68181634
No because F1 only promotes sycophants internally. It will be someone who will run business as usual, not rocking any boats for the FIA or making necessary but bold changes.
When Bernie dies the FOM, FIA and others will consolidate and move the decision making into committee. Making everything actually worse than it already is.
The problem with F1 is a management problem. The decision making at the top is awful through and through.

Luigi Fagioli did the lowest number of GP's with 7 and lead his first race.
Oddly enough he got his one and only win in his 7th and final GP but did not lead a lap in it as he was car sharing with Fangio.
They swapped after 24 laps and Fangio won.
So together they finished 1st and 11th.
>>68181949
She has already done 2 Olympics. Probably pre-organised it so she has the entire US basketball team to herself.
I still cant figure out why the fuck Rosberg moved aside for Hamilton. I thought they were fighting for the championship.
Surely even if Mercedes told him he had to move he could have just ignored it..
Is it a sign that he knows he is going to lose anyway so he might as well create an excuse?
>>68183356
He probably didn't think he would finish 7th but rather 2nd or 3rd.
But he was slow, like ridiculously slow. Hamilton would have passed him eventually.
To block Hamilton for the entire race like that would have been sabotaging the team and everything the mechanics, the pit crew and the guys back in the factory work for.
Rosberg is a team player. He goes back to Brackley instead of going with Bieber to the Copa America. He sees these guys and talks to them.
I just don't think he has it in him to tell all those guys "Fuck you. If I can't win, neither of us can win. Your hard work is for nothing. Go fix my car faggots."
>>68183356
Rosberg is talented but that's it. He doesn't have the balls or character to fully utilize it. He's a guy who's all about doing things by the book and not hurting anyone's feelings
>>68183488
>>68183356
Also it is a rule in the Mercedes contract that if you are that slow and ruining the chance of the team winning a race that you move.
Hamilton would have just broken contract and then gotten away with it like he always does due to Toto sucking his dick.
>>68183488
I see what you are saying but his fight against Hamilton should be above that no matter what.
I feel like if Hamilton did the same nobody would question his intentions.
But yeah, he was really, really slow. It felt like he forgot how to drive. That also feels like something would never happen to Hamilton.
>>68183542
It has nothing to do with his character or balls.
>>68183548
>>68183488
is right
>>68183656
Hamilton had basically a whole year of being off of his game and not really being there at all the races.
It happens.
Even Seb has had it.
He is also renegotiating his contract but I doubt that played as big a role in his mind but for the team it will be a good sign of faith.

>>68178848
Fine, Renault demanded it but they don't share their motivations in that article at all.
I am thinking they went V6 because they thought it would level the playing field more.
>>68190723
Renault were kicking butt with the V8s, mostly due to partnering with Red Bull though. They wouldn't have wanted to level the playing field, especially since the V8 engines were fairly even already.
>>68190882
I mean in terms of development costs not in terms of performance.
V8 should be a minimum spec for Formula One.
>>68191112
Nothing about F1 is going to change for the better. It is completely at the control of the big manufacturers. And big manufacturers have no need for V8s or V10s or anything like that. The world of cars, even supercars now is about hybrid, about small engines that are efficient as hell. I'm guessing this is partially to prepare for the eventual fact that oil is becoming scarcer and not only demand but also global legislation is eventually going to shift towards electric cars.
F1 is a huge business and the only real constructor there with an actual primary focus on F1 is maybe Ferrari, and even that probably isn't true anymore. Everyone else there is basically because it is a marketing and business thing. They want to improve their brand, use relevant tech that they can slap on their road cars, sell "F1 tech" to plebs with varying degrees of money. This means the trends of F1 is going to follow the trends of road cars. How many V8s do you see produced nowadays? It's going to go smaller and smaller with a greater focus on electronic motors. After V6 hybrid it will be a normally aspirated hybrid and soon enough the engine is going to be predominantly electric and the standard engine will be merely used as a boost, like the KERS system is now.
Strict fuel restrictions also inadverdently push it into this direction. You can regenerate electricity, you can't regenerate fuel.
F1 doesn't care about fans. Teams don't even give a shit about the driver's championship. F1 cares about the teams who bring in the money and the teams care about constructors championships. There is literally a framework at place that not only gives the teams a say, it in fact basically ensures that the teams get the regulations they desire.
F1 is cucked and fucked my man
>>68191265
Of course if F1 got its balls back it could say they're going back to bigger engines. But that would quite possibly lead to a bunch of teams walking. If Renault and Mercedes walked, if only one of those walked, it would be a disaster. F1 can't deal with that sort of PR and clearly wish to avoid it, so they're going to do exactly what the constructors want.
This is basically my reasoning for why F1 will fail before it "gets better". Its going to become so big, so dominant for specific teams, viewership will go down even more. If Hamilton wins 2 more titles in a row, fuck if Mercedes wins another title in 2017 even if 2016 is won by Rosberg, numbers will go down. People will stop caring and F1 is too blind to realize that. They'll continue to introduce expensive and hugely technological complex regualtions meaning that simply running a team will require a budget that would have won a WCC a decade ago.
The best we can hope for is that this death comes sooner than later and then the series can reinvent itself.
>>68182168
Excellent top trumps!
>>68191265
Stop this nonsense argument. Constructors would be completely retarded to think ANYONE but a couple underage leftist babbies care about "fuel efficiency" in a MOTORSPORT. Constructors aren't completely retarded, and they don't think that.
The only other argument that makes sense is that they want to use F1 development to scale down to use for their regular line of cars - they invest huge amounts of money after all, they don't want to see it basically going down the drain even though they probably collect enough money from advertising.
Does anyone else want the toothpaste flag newfags to leave? Seriously retarded posting from those clog wearing weirdos since the MAD AMZ meme started.

The only thing that is certain is that the blues and the grays will soon reveal themselves to humankind and we will have a staged return of Jesus Christ but he'll be a fake - the antichrist. All in all I don't think Formula One matters a lot in the grand scheme of things but it's a nice distraction especially since the illuminati have now chosen a Dutch childrape victim to become the next Michael Schumacher (who probably knew things that made them decide to end his life). I'm not completely sure why they made this decision though, when they can still push the 'everyone is equally (fucked)' narrative with that carbabby subhuman called Hamilton. Perhaps they dropped the idea of making the next population of goyim to serve the Jews be mulatto weaklings in favour of just killing us all and only let these Jews and high-placed traitors rule Earth (+ Mars?). Either way, something big is going to happen in the coming years, all the signs are there.

F1 isn't for casuals anymore. In order to follow the race properly I'd say you not only needed to have watched every other race before, you should also be informing yourself inbetween races and seasons. It has literally become Formula /a/ now. (/a/ stands for autistic here)

apart from ferrari, every engine manufacturer is in formula 1 for marketing purposes.
it's why, looking at the past decade or so, they fuck off the moment their reputation looks poor, as in renault, or after considerable time and money spent without a constructor's title, as in toyota, honda and bmw.
the manufacturers have to downsize the engines in their road cars regardless because of EU regulations like euro 6.
there were news articles about the EU wanting to implement a maximum average CO2 emission (in g/km) for the cars sold by a manufacturer in a calendar year but there was opposition from smaller manufacturers of high performance vehicles.
