Last year, around 30 000 came through Sweden. About couple of hundred came from Finland-Russia border which shouldn't happen because it's not part of Schengen area anymore, but we asked Putin to fix that shit and they did. Was letting refugees in Russia's way to cause more extremism to rise in Finland and divide people apart so they're easier to bait by Russian trolls, no one will ever know the truth and it doesn't matter anymore.
Our prime minister did very bad mistake, he said he'd offer his mansion to refugees. It was his wife's idea. He didn't realize this statement would spread fast in foreign media, and they also twisted his words. It also got attention in Arab media, and lot of Arabs said they wanted to come to Finland because of what he said. And in the end he didn't even give the mansion after all but sold it, so not only it made him look weak it also made him look like a liar.
We barely got any Syrians, it was mostly guys from Iraq. They were fooled by human smugglers that Finland is some kind of paradise. Finns were fooled to think it will be mostly Syrian kids coming like that drown 3-year-old boy, lot of people were pulled back to reality when they saw the truth that it's nothing like when 400 000 people were evacuated from Karelia(apparently this is what lot of people thought it would be like).
About 4000 asylum seekers aborted their asylum application because they realized Finland isn't like they were told. It was cold, dark, boring, food was bad. So they're deported back to Iraq. This already made lot of Finns pissed off because Finns are used to the mindset that you're supposed to be content with very average life and complaining about things like food is not acceptable.

The immigration officials changed the requirements to get asylum. From January to May 22% of asylum applications were accepted. In June it was only 10% due to changes. If you're from Somalia, Afghanistan or Iraq you can't stay just because you're from these countries anymore because they're seen as safe.
I try to think positive way, because Finland was FINALLY pushed to tighten the residence permit requirements. It has been a problem since Swedish Peoples Party's Astrid Thors fucked things up around 2008. It also made Sweden to fix things, and the border control between Denmark and Sweden seemed to work quite well. We now have agreement with Sweden, Sweden will deport 80 000 migrants and Finland 20 000. How this will work, we'll see.
