I proceeded to express that I hate how we "worship" or thank civil servants for doing their jobs. I do not get thanked for doing my job. I acknowledge there is risks involved with being a police officer, but you made the choice to become one on your own. Civil servants are thanked with our taxes. But because they are individuals in position of power. They should be held to higher standards than anyone else. We hold adults to higher standards than children.

The first thing about that is that diversity of perspective need not be generated this way. Even if we were to assume it was true, we would still have to weight it against the disadvantages, which I see as overwhelming.
The second thing is to consider is that in an homogeneous society, I don't need to white perspective and you don't need the white perspective, in so far as such things exist. African don't need to know what the fuck I think or what my experience is and vice versa.
